" You must see with eyes unclouded by hate. See the good in that which is evil, and the evil in that which is good. Pledge yourself to neither side, but vow instead to preserve the balance that exists between the two".

Iâve forgotten who it was that said creation is memory. My own experiences and the various things I have read remain in my memory and become the basis upon which I create something new. I couldnât do it out of nothing. For this reason, since the time I was a young man I have always kept a notebook handy when I read a book. I write down my reactions and what particularly moves me. I have stacks and stacks of these college notebooks, and when I go off to write a script, these are what I read. Somewhere they always provide me with a point of breakthrough. Even for single lines of dialogue I have taken hints from these notebooks. So what I want to say is, donât read books while lying down in bed.

I would do this practice from now on
When i was young, i used to be shy (still am somewhat) but I was painfully shy at that time. There was lot of shaming by family about it as well so i was very self conscious about my shyness as well. There used to be a word for it in my language which i was called. Only, the word didnât mean shy. It was some condescending form of shy. Anyway, i digress. So yeah i didnât have any idea what to do about my shyness and introvertedness. I saw it as something extremely negative and myself as lacking something. The problem was i wasnât always like that. I had been very bold and blunt as a kid. But that changed as i grew up. Some time as i turned 9-10. I had no clue what to do. So i used to pray to God everyday âto give me confidenceâ. This used to be my prayer for a good many years. I just feel sad thinking about it now.Â
