Accidental Mistakes
No poison,no alcohol or toxic could neither beat or cure the burning of heart ache.Much to Curtis’ dismay as he chugged whatever bottle his shaking hands could grab ahold of behind the bar.Rather relieved he was alone in the building-well to his battered mind’s knowledge that is.Hardly noticing a somewhat taken aback Octavius staring at him with no amusment whatsoever,eyes screaming with disappointment as he carefully took a seat next to the mess of a snake. Voice as gentle as the soft accent sprinkled across it.
“You know it isn’t Christmas yet,Curtis?We’re suppose to save half of this”
Hearing the bottle being slammed down against the wooden counter shattered the mere seconds of silence between the two.Followed by a heavy huff from the snake as his peircing eyes glared into the dragon’s very soul,his voice dripping with irritation.
“G-Give me a reason to stop or some damn cure for this then and maybe i’ll consider.”
Annd without a second pausing,he was already gulping down the rest of the alcohol,making the dragon sigh in utter frustration.Clearing his throat to try one last time.
“Sir forgive me for speaking out of line,but is what happened..Truly worth all of this,or are these emotions too much to handle-”
The deafening silence that echoed throughout the room made him freeze up, Curtis slowly lowering the bottle,his mouth forming into a sickening snarl, burning daggers of hatred into Octavius with his eyes..Which surprisingly didn’t make the dragon stop.
“I do not mean to offend you,but what happened to those two isn’t your fault. And I can only guess your only release from those fears and regrets is her?”
Each and every word ripped into the snake’s very heart,his head sinking down and onto the counter,just giving up and letting the burning tears sting his eyes. Making Octavius sign once more before gently placing a hand on his shoulder.
“Listen to me Curtis.I’d be willingly to solve this for good,relieve you of all this pain and give you a-Hoow you say,happily ever after.But,you need to do exactly as I say..Deal?”
As the hushed tones and whispered words of the two men slowly faded the into night,Curtis was making his way down the dimly lit street.Repeating over and over the steps of what he had agreed too.A choice that he could never take back,never change,a choice that finally caused..A small smile to appear, sparks of hope waking his aching bones up and bringing light to his chest. All seemed too perfect,too good,too brilliant that the god’s of this hellish land ripped it away from him in mere seconds.Because as the faint illusion of a possible peaceful life filled his mind,he didn’t take notice to the huge truck bombing down the road as he crossed it.
His eyes widening,neck shooting into the direction of the blinding lights of the incoming vehicle too late annnd-
“Shit-”
The last thing that filled his ears was the ear-splitting smash of his body colliding with the metal before pure utter darkness..

The gentle glow of daybreak seeping into the town and gifting the warmth of sunlight to it’s people.All waking up,getting ready for their day to day routine, nothing out of the ordinary-Well that was until a new and very lost soul made her way onto the streets..Hanging up very smol posters all scribbled with crayon with the word “MISSING”. Her eyes filled to the brim with worry,panic and glazed with salty tears.Her smol heart pounding a mile a minute with utter fear of the unknown faces of complete strangers around her.The child diving into the “safety” of a dark alleyway. Shivering and on the verge of breaking down,now aaaaallll alone and begging to wake up from this horrid nightmare.

After a few moments or so..Silence echoed outside,no more footsteps or muffled curses of soldiers.Making Blake breathe a sigh of relief,tipping his hat down while placing a hand on his still racing heart.Celine finally pulling her face out of Cheese’ shirt to permit her eyes to look around the place,yet still held on tightly to the gal.

A sigh of relief comes from Cheese, honestly grateful for the silence from outside, relaxing slightly but still on edge from Blake being near her…

Blake:P-Please quit aiming that thing ma’am,It’s not only not needed but also cause of well..*He puts to Celine* Last thing I really want is her to witness such a thing.I’m not here for her either,quite the oppisite,I’m just here to make sure she dosen’t end up back with that clown.*He takes his hat off and holds it close to his chest as he looks at Cheese,Celine finally catching sight of Blake and her eyes brighten up slightly,waving at him which makes a small smile appear on his face*

Blake:Again i’ll do my best..The kid ya got in your arms belongs to the Potencia family,not a member of it..More as a tool if anything.You see,when the girl was only a baby and could hardly even recongize the world around her..Her father refused to pay up,going a step further and even stole somethin from Sino Potencia.So full of rage and hatred he..*He places his hat back on as he looks down* Ordered that during one of their family gatherings,every single one of them would be slaughtered..And once the job was done,burn the place to the ground. The “friend” you and her wish to search for *He points to the paper Celine was holding* is called Curtis Anguis and I’d-..Argue he did most of the slaughtering that night.Only sparing one being Celine,fast asleep in the crib,Sino partically threatening him to take care of her till they could train and use her as a soldier. That or even..Cut her open once her ability really showed, take the power source then just throw the body away…This is why I-..I beg you to stop the search now and just take her away from all this while you can,ma’am.

Every step and every turn surely felt like their final one at this point, couldn’t blame the gal in the slightest as they continued.For sure the feeling of exposure only growing with their progress back home, small little noises and movements coming from the small child as Cheese continued walking.

After a few more steps she couldn’t take it anymore, the growing and crushing paranoia was too much for her. Going from the normal stroll to full on sprinting down the streets and ducking into alleyways and small passages whatever felt safer than the last. Just not wanting to come across anyone or bump into someone.

Within a few more minutes of running she ducks into a house, clearly abandoned and old. Empty as well as she collapses onto the floor holding Celine close and leaning her back up against a wall, heartbeat in her ears. Clearly panicked in general but she couldn’t tell why..
