“I think we come from people who knew so much about love and yet we don’t appreciate it all that often when it comes to us. I think stories like that should be told more often. Even if they don’t sound as romantic. It’s about the work you put in, the time. The dedication.” He told her. “Those are the important things everyone deserves to hear.”
Laughing, he sighed and tilted his head. “No... this is the story of my parents. And how they met. However it’s not them to the exact T. This story has a happier ending.” He admitted as he leaned back in his seat. “Besides... there won’t be anymore love stories there. Not anytime soon.” Looking back at her, he shrugged his shoulders. “The world spins madly on.”
As Thomas pulled him in for a hug, he nuzzled against the other before they continued their walk. Once at Thomas’s home, Harrison opened the door and took the other’s coat before taking off his own. “Go make yourself comfortable. I’ll make dinner and then we can cuddle. Perhaps I’ll read you a novel too.” He mused before pressing his kiss to the artist’s forehead.
Night In
Preston didn’t know what he needed. Was it what Zavier suggested - sex and alcohol? Did he really just need, as he was sure Tate would say, a good kick in the ass? Or did he just need a night in with someone other than his cousin (who was basically forced to take his side on things due to the whole family thing)? No matter what option was the best one, staying in with Harrison was the only one Preston really felt like following up on. His heart hurt and he felt aimless, like he was loosing grip on every good thing in his life.
The smell of dinner hit him the minute he walked in the door, and then so did the dogs. He managed to escape them, reaching down to pet them all quickly. “What’re you making?” he asked, looking up to find Harrison. “Smells great. Listen, we don’t actually have to talk about the girls if you don’t want to.” @rainorharrisonx
Harrison had been surrounded since he started cooking, the dogs desperately trying to get their paws on some of the food Harrison was cooking and tossing them a few pieces of burger as he went along. “Hey man, whatever you want to do. I figured boys night for sure. Wings and burgers are cookin’, got two different sauces for ‘em. Boneless and crispy, and some bacon and onion strings on for the burgers.” He replied. “Literally though, Elle was here the other night talkin’ about running away to new york. Then Amy spent the night. I don’t know what the hell is going on man, my love life is a walking disaster.”

Harrison: Sweet, I will set up and I'm sure these lazy boogers will be more than happy to be pseudo pillows.
Harrison: A woman scorned? I don't know man. Elle left me the day after my parents died. Girls can be harsh.
What did he want. He wanted things to be able to go back but knew they couldn’t. He wanted her to see how he felt, how he wanted to be but didn’t know how to get it into words. “Do you remember the night we started hanging out? I was sitting in the back of someone’s pick up. And I saw you across the bonfire and you were just... magnetic. Like you had this pull of gravity.” He offered softly. “I want that girl to be here in this city with us. I want you to open up to the world the way you could back then. Because if I can find that girl again... I might be able to forgive everything whole hearted.” He offered. “Find that girl again Elle. And love yourself.”

“I think is a great beginning, it really sounds like an amazing story.” She said smiling, she had really liked what she had heard he had a great talent. “So do you only have that or have you thought where do you want the story to go?”
He smiled at her, nodding his head. “Its about my parents.” He admitted quietly. He was always told to write about the things he knew. And he figured there was no better way to tribute them than to get the greatest love story on earth down on paper. Even if it wasn’t them, it’s who it was based off of. “I’ve almost got twelve chapters done. And another story sort of straggling along but this is the priority story.”
“You think people who love each other always stay together? Sometimes it’s just not possible. You don’t get it, because you’re always so scared to feel. I want to feel again. You leaving made me numb, seeing you brought back pain, but I needed someone to bring me peace. I haven’t fallen for anyone else, I haven’t come close.” He explained, desperate for her to understand. “Because you’re still my best friend. I always want you here. I do something great and you’re the first person I want to call.”

Harrison: I'll make something epic for dinner.
Harrison: A meal fit for kings and their dogs, we'll bitch about the girls, and we'll go to bed on the floor surrounded by our favorite beasts.

“You didn’t deserve to grow up without love, Elle. It made you hard.” He moved forward anyway, grasping her face in his hands. “I am so in love with you, I wonder if I could bear it. But I don’t... I don’t like what happened. It’s so ingrained in all the choices I make, even in non romantic relationships. I wonder if I’m the reason people always leave now.” When she said she was getting ready to run, he shook his head. “Don’t you dare run away again. You stay here. You deal with this and accept it. Because that’s what’s going to get us past this. This is worth it. This hurts because it has to. Because it matters.” He pressed his forehead to hers and sighed, shaking his head. “Don’t run away on me again, I don’t think I could bear it.”

Harrison: Yep, locked away in the room and trying to make this mess more manageable. Why, something wrong?
“You didn’t ruin things.... You just didn’t fix them when they were completely fixable.” He explained. “It’s like... It’s like I won’t be able to give you my all... Until I know I have given you my total forgiveness.” He explained softly. He stood, then. Moving to her and tilting his head. “If I’m gonna love you again, I want it to be with everything I have, but.... How do I do that when there’s something holding me back. How do I love you the way that you deserve to be loved.” He explained quietly. “You deserve to be loved with everything. Because you’re the kind of girl that needs everything in order to feel the things you should’ve all this time.”
“Yeah, sort of. It’s something new. I figure I better not go near that series until Elle cools down.” He admitted, rubbing his forehead. “But, in any case... Any plans to get through this lockdown? Something to keep you sane?” He asked. “Because trust me, you don’t want any of this. This, this right here is how writers stay calm and there’s a whole world of mess that comes with it.”
