actually I miss the mha fandom. I miss 2017-2019 era fandom. like it wasn’t actually any better but at least ppl weren’t allergic to headcanoning characters as having darker skin tones or being fat

lots of ppl have made good points abt how orientalism plays in role in how Zanka is often depicted as more fem/soft/small when paired w Jabber, but smth I’ve also noticed is that ppl will aryanify Zanka (particularly in fics) lol. like describing him as pale, blond, and blue-eyed in the same breath…it’s another weird way of depicting Zanka in contradistinction to Jabber while also creating a more relatable white man out of a canonically Japanese character who’s really not that pale or blond

#idk man like I think pale is overused as a descriptor. when someone says pale I think sickly like so white they glow in the sun type shit #and I would venture to say most white people and other ethnicities of a similar shade are not actually pale #light skinned? yes obviously but pale no not really. esp in gachi where the characters are drawn w just like regular light skin tones #NOT paper white #it’s very odd to me to describe Zanka as pale. esp when Rudo is like right there as a skin tone reference point that boy is pale #would also argue that he’s not blond or blue eyed but I think those r a little more controversial…#his eyes are black in the manga they just glow blue when using lovely (+frankly are a dark enough blue in the anime to still be referred to #black) and his hair is two-toned(!!!!) but the lighter portion is more ashy/gray than a blond #all of this is kinda splitting hairs (hah) but it’s just really weird to see all of these descriptors applied to Z it creates this weird #inaccurate mental picture of him. in conjunction w ppl rarely considering aspects of Japanese culture he might engage w #it’s odd. it’s very odd and it’s still giving frail white uke to jabbers aggressive dominating black seme #scrubs my hand over my face. just needed to get this out #Zanka nijiku #sink txt

Mankira/Jabber, Zanka/Assistaff and Tamsy/Tokushin

Mankira! Has a mad scientist theme with cyber goth elements! Like Jabber she makes her own toxins but instead of testing them on herself she prefers to test them on others.

Assistaff! Other than being based off Japanese culture I didn't have a lot of inspiration for her. I already had an idea of what I wanted.

Tokushin can translate to devotion and or blasphemy in Japanese depending on the kanji. She's a nun tied in bondage, while Sinful at first glance it ties her to her faith. It's the weaving of rope much like how a distaff is used for the weaving of thread and yarn.

definitely agree that jabber hates/is very resistant to any form of aftercare for various reasons, but i think this should be paired w jabber getting the worst fucking subdrop yet being incapable of connecting these post-play crashes to, yknow, doing edgeplay with 0 aftercare
