Richard Papen was so gay. He is a liar and a very unreliable narrator. Firstly, when Richard describes the twins for the first time, we learn that they look similarly quite a lot. Richard then proceeds to be interested in Camilla, and through the book, as he describes her and his attraction to her, he points out her boyish aspects. We get to see that Camilla has masculine looks and that she often wears her brother’s clothes - which Richard finds very attractive. And it is not just the appearances that the twins have alike, their personalities resemble. Richard is undeniably sexually attracted Charles. Then there is his thing with Francis, where again, sexual attraction is present. Richard justifies everything, of course. When they kissed that night, he would have gone with it if not for Charles interfering. Ironic, how Charles is the one to crash their thing, and then he is the one fucking with Francis. Also, when Francis is first seen, Richard compares him with two queer men, Alfred Douglas who is also known as Bosie and the Comte de Montesquiou. They are not exactly well known, so it makes you wonder. Now, the thing he has with Henry. Richard is actually wrapped around Henry’s little finger. He is lusting over Charles and Francis, but with Henry, there are even more emotional matters than with Charles/Richard. Was he in love with Henry? Maybe so. And it would fit in just right.

we all know Theo and Boris had a sexual relationship sometimes but I Cannot for the life of me imagine that they ever kissed (except for that one time). and I feel like that’s so paradoxical because in my mind their friendship was super intimate in every other way, but kissing??? Idk about that one chief.

Okay, I know a lot of people think they probably kissed multiple times before the parting scene, and that Theo just didn’t bring it up (which technically is plausible), but I personally just never felt that way either. Kissing on the mouth is something far more weighty than just messing around sexually. It’s intimate and forward and close in a way that wouldn’t have been done by two boys who were actively trying to repress their feelings, two boys who both convinced themselves that what they had was purely for the sake of sexual gratification, nothing else. Kissing on the lips, I think, would’ve been seen as too risky to them. Too ‘gay’ for Theo and too implicative of romantic attachment for Boris. And aside from all that, Theo’s stunned, breathless, reaction to Boris kissing him goodbye suggests that this wasn’t exactly a common occurrence. That kiss being their first one also kind of makes sense given the last minute timing—Boris only being pushed into doing it because he was about to lose Theo, and also feeling free to do it because he knew there wouldn’t be time for them to confront each other about it after.

Conformitygate becomes funnier when you realize that Vecna would essentially just be ghost-of-Christmas-future-ing Mike.

Conformitygate was a fun idea but I stand on the fact that the real reason all the costuming, set design, lighting and everything still reflects Byler is actually because Stranger Things is full of passionate artists and nerds who, in being that.....do not agree with how The Duffers ended the show.

And said "fuck this, dress him like his dad if you wanna give him that ending" "he hangs Will's painting over his bed actually fuck you, and it's right below his one way sign for an extra fuck you".

It wasn't the Duffers commenting on this. It was every passionate artist who loved this story so much and actually understood the characters, doing everything in their power to send the message through the screen everything from "this is ending is a dystopia" to "Byler are still endgame" or whatever each thing hints at. It's not theory or hint. It's spite.

Everything in their power to either imply the right ending is still out there for them in the future, or acknowledge that this is not it. Make that shit blue and yellow. Hang that painting above his bed. And if you're gonna write him into a conformist hellscape, I'm gonna dress him the way I did every time he was miserable and identical to the character who represents misery in conformity.

It wasn't a promise of a better ending. It was a fuck you to this one.
