Through the use of computer technology, new media describes the content made available using the different forms of electronic communication. It has been constantly developing and currently the most used communication means around the globe. A major portion of the world's population is enlightened to be using such medium.

In the modern world, new media has unexpectedly taken over the world, affecting the daily lives of people from children to adults. It gives off its hands when we need to communicate but it ruins us if we are not literate enough to be handling these tools.

TIMELINE OF NEW MEDIA

New media is an interactive form of communication that uses internet and many other forms. Through new media, it is now easy for us to communicate with other people that are far from us, for us to be updated to news and on whats happening in our surroundings. Now, let’s go back to the history of media, where media was first invented and discovered.

Being in the technological age, so many things change with a blink of an eye and social networking will do the same and probably became somewhat different than they are today. 

One thing remains as the base of social networking sites, which allows individuals to build profiles within a system, communicate with other users of the same system, and view the profiles of other users. 

Media has transformed the way we understand the world around us. Media has become much more personal and diverse as user-generated content becomes more prominent in our lives.

One thing that will always remain the same in regards to social networking is that these social networking sites are structured and organized as personal,and the individual user remains at the center of their own network.

The evolution of media has revolutionized the way we understand the world around us, from old media to new media. New media is digital and user-generated, whereas old media is a far more traditional way of television, radio, newspapers, magazines, books, etc. New media presents us with a new angle by empowering us to engage through the Web with each other.

From its traditional form to its new form, media has been part of the lives of the people, even before industrialization has set foot on earth. As human civilization advance over time, media has also evolved its forms from its existence. Today, new media is the most widely used type of media across the globe specifically in the field of social media. It continues to help more and more lives for an easier and convenient transportation of news as well as a faster and efficient communication with other people. In this timeline, we will trace the origin of new media and how it has evolved to the kind of media that we use today.

BULLYING

As days go by, hundreds and hundreds of inviduals are being bullied in our society. Some of the children and teens are cruel while the adults are being wicked. One of the major problem in our society is bullying. And it causes a major impact to us.

Bullying is somewhat rampant in today’s generation. It is one of the causes of suicide. It all started with a bullying that can cause depression and then end up into committing suicide. Bullying can take one’s life.

There is a need to stop this issue. If no one will put a stop to it then people commiting suicide will increase as years pass by. Cause’ frankly speaking, every year, the number of people committing suicide increases. So, we must put a stop to it and save lives.

How To Prevent Teenage Pregnancy?

Teenage pregnancy is a contemporary social issue. It has repeated on the news, on the radios or artticles that we read about it online.According to the National Demographic and Health Survey (NDHS) in 2013, one in ten young Filipino women afe 15-19 has begun childbearing. Eight percent are already mothers and two percent are pregant with their first child. With the decreasing age number of filipino women getting pregnant, how can we prevent teenage pregnancy?

Although there are many ways to prevent a teenage girl to become pregnant but the only one that is absolutely effective is sexual abstinence. Sexual abstinence or sexual restrain is the practice of refraining from some or all aspects of sexual activity.This method is the only one that guarantees no risk of getting pregnant and protects the teen from getting any STD’s.

Kids or teens are curious about new things or new encounter, what if they were curious of what sex is? The valid solution is to have a formal education about it. Education about sex is a way of giving awareness to teenagers that they should not encounter sexual intercourse. Sexual education can be taught through school and personally to our parents.

Gadgets or Textbooks?

Gadgets or Textbooks? These are both options that are commonly asked by many. We all know that both of these have advantages and disadvantages in any way. In fact, people tend to choose more on gadgets rather than textbooks. We all know that teenagers focus more on visualizing, not reading because we find texts as boring, yet images as fun.

Textbooks are useful, especially for finding informations yet gadgets are useful too since gadgets can provide more things than what textbooks can only give. But, the thing about gadgets here is that people tend to abuse the usage of gadgets. People tend to use gadgets for entertainment that seem unuseful for a student and a teenager. I’m not saying that it’s bad to use gadgets, but we really need to have a fair use between gadgets and textbooks.

So to sum it all up, we may not find textbooks interesting as a teenager who admires visuals and graphics, but at least we should use our gadgets efficiently in a good way because gadgets might lead us to addiction which may cause a new chain social issues. We should also learn how to value textbooks because our parents graduated before google was invented, and textbooks are a big help especially when there is no internet connection, and if you need deeper informations that cannot be found on the internet.

How does plastic surgery boost a person’s confidence?

Rhytidectomy. Liposuction. Rhinoplasty.

Not to mention all, these are just some of the common procedures that are being done in plastic surgery. But before we dig deep with this topic, let us first know what plastic surgery is. Plastic Surgery refers to a surgical procedure where reconstruction is being done on the human body to enhance a body part to its desirable qualities. But in what way is plastic surgery helpful and harmful?

After industrialization has set foot in our planet, the evolvement of plastic surgery was considered as one of its contributions to the lives of the humans. People consider plastic surgery as a helpful technique in improving the overall well-being of a person in a way that it boosts their self-confidence. People find it easy to interact with other people because they now have a beautiful appearance that they can be confident of. They will not find it hard to socialize with others because they find it easier to communicate with them if your beauty is accepted by the society's beauty standards. However, plastic surgery has a dark side of the story. People who undergo plastic surgery are most likely prone to diseases. Due to the fact that plastic surgery injects chemicals that might harm the body, bacterias find it easy for the people to become the hosts of the illnesses that they bring. It can also be life-threatening because not all plastic surgery procedures are applied successfully, some of them may fail. Plastic surgery can be deadly because once a person catches a disease, this disease will easily spread throughout a person's body which will lead to complications in the organ system and eventually lead to death.

Furthermore, plastic surgery is a big help to people who lack confidence in interacting with others due to unwanted body features as it enhances these features to its desirable qualities. Due to the society's beauty standards, humans are willing to spend a lot of money, effort and time just to meet these standards. Plastic surgery boosts a person's confidence in a way that they feel more accepted by the society and feel more confident to socialize with them. Nevertheless, beauty should not be the criteria in interacting with others. Everyone is beautiful in every way and that everyone deserves to be treated equally. Do not try to hide your true appearance and apply plastic surgery just to impress other people. Show them your true colors and let them shine in you.

Success bases nothing. It does not base on anything or anyone. It does not exclude or include anything. If there would be one basis to measure your success, then that would be your happiness. If you are happy with what you are doing, then you are successful. Happiness is all it takes for you to attain success. True success is based from your happiness!
