“I’m a millennial, so I didn’t grow up with social media. The fact that the access to information and the ability to constantly be joining in a huge conversation of things going on in the world is a really huge difference. Kids now are so much more engaged from such a young age, in a way that was harder to come by when we were kids. In a weird way, it’s become cool to care about that shit in a way that never was, which is a really great thing. I think something else that the film talks about is how far someone is willing to go, and how much are they willing to lose sight of themselves, in sacrifice of this longing to exist online, or have a viral moment, or be relevant.”

Serious question: what does it say about ones mental state when you put "Hold My Hand" on repeat to rock out to while showering and start crying halfway through the first repeat and can't stop?

I read the Bridgerton books 1-6 and watched season one and two of the show. I enjoyed both the books and the show but neither were perfect. There were things in the books I really disliked and plotlines in the show I could have done without. Book one and season one, to me, were equally enjoyable. Between the second book and the second season, however, there is one very clear winner: Bridgerton season two.
One of the biggest reasons are the changes made to Anthony and Kate's characters. Kate Sharma is, in my opinion, by far the superior Kate.
I also loved how the show took key parts of the book and improved them. Most notably the bee sting scene. I also prefer season two Anthony to book Anthony. His reason for not wanting a love marriage and the pain and vulnerabilty he showed, especially during scenes with his mother, was amazing and so moving.
Kate and Anthony's love story, from their first meeting to their glances and dances and clashes to the proposal, is a masterpiece in romantic storytelling.
Much of the credit must go to Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley, of course. Their chemistry truly was the make-or-break factor of this season. Give them all the awards - and lots of screen time in season three (which I have high hopes and expectations for now).
