Info about Bushfires in Australia

I’m making this so poeple can find a easy place to find information for charities to help those affect by the bushfires, both people and animals. I’ll add more once I find them. As Emperor Akihito prepares to abdicate the Chrysanthemum Throne on April 30th, the government of Japan prepares to usher in a new era. Today, Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga has announced the name of Japan’s next era: Reiwa (令和).

The Reiwa era (令和) will begin on May 1st, as Naruhito, Crown Prince of Japan ascends to the Chrysanthemum Throne and begins his reign after his father’s abdication. Early, Prime Minister Shinzō Abe commented, “We hope to choose a name that would lead to a new era brimming with hope”.

The Kamen Rider franchise has always emphasized the distinct differences between Kamen Riders of the Showa and Heisei eras. The current series, Kamen Rider Zi-O, will be the final series to air during the Heisei era. Likewise, Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger will be the final Super Sentai series to air during the Heisei era as well.

While not proper DX toy catalog content, we received a ton of new Kamen Rider Zi-O reveals in the form of Gashapon listings, which includes a good demo of how the Rider belts work and how the forms work. Credit to Tokullectibles, as you can see.

Let’s start by bringing up our second Rider. Their name appears to be Kamen Rider Gates (ゲイツ / Geitsu). Whereas Zi-O’s belt reads 2018, it can be seen that Gates’ belt reads a far off year which is partially obscured (206_), and it’d make sense for it to be 2068 since that’s exactly 50 years ahead of 2018.

The transformation items for this series are Ride Watches, which are turned to reveal the face on the cover. They are then plugged onto the transformation belt which appears to be called the Spacetime (時空 / Jikuu) Driver.

Here’s where I have to pause the coverage and explain a thing. While this does confirm there are sounds built into the Ride Watches, it looks like this covers the GASHAPON version’s functions, which is that they cycle through some sounds with the press of a button. Interestingly, one image shows the back of the Ride Watch and reveals that these have a pin system on the back in addition to having sounds of their own, which is not technically new since a lot of power-ups will do that, but this is the first time a Rider toyline has done that for the whole series.

Zi-O’s gimmick involves him transforming into forms based on past Riders, which are called Armors. The forms so far include Build Armor and Ex-Aid Armor for Zi-O, Ghost Armor and Drive Armor for Gates. A better look at them on the Gashapon inflatables page also reveals that they have weapons associated with them, such as Build Armor’s weapon based on the Drill Crusher, or Ex-Aid Armor’s… sock-em boppers based on the Gashapon Breaker. Zi-O on his own has a sword/gun weapon. As far as I can tell, the weapons do not have names of their own.

Most of what we can see here is just Gashapon information, but there’s some interesting things to take away from it! There will be a set of Ride Watch keychains with LEDs, which includes Fourze, Faiz, OOO and Genm as potential additions. The GP Ride Watches will also include Ryuki, Brave, Rogue, Mach and Meteor. Also if you’re interested, there’s going to be digital watches available in the Gashapon line as well, so that’s cute.

Will probably followup if/when proper DX toy stuff comes up, because there’s still some questions left about the functionality. More importantly, will the main action figure line be as sparse as it’s been these last two shows?? I must know! Follow @tokuconnect for more info I didn’t cover! Good night!
