Ah, there he goes. Originally, he didn’t even want to actually talk to the girl, but now ... well, his mouth did it before he could stop and Kureo decides to roll with it. He’s been confused with her appearance for a while now and raises a hand to point at her jacket - he’s just reassuring himself. And prepares himself for the day Akira might show up with something like this.

He hasn’t seen such a dilettante tracking for quite some time, but hey, he’s not gonna complain - after all, the ghoul dug it’s own grave with it. It was no problem to lead it into this ally, it’s evening, in one of the more empty wards and really, he thought he’d have to put more effort into his trap, but no. It followed his steps like it always did the last week as soon as he left the house and now, he has a quiet place where he can kill it without having civilians in his way. Turning around, he finally faces his stalker, a crooked grin on his lips, a mad glint in his eyes.

Kureo’s used to people staring at him, he doesn’t even notice it anymore. His appearance seems to be ... scary for some, although he doesn’t know why; at least most of the strangers he met stayed out of his personal space like that. But this is just ridiculous, really. There’s plenty of space to the right and the left and he’s just standing there to wait for his daughter, umbrella in his hand and car parked near, he doubts that the man besides him has a reason. Suspiciously, he gazes him - or just looks up to him, because there are barely any centimetres distance between them by now - and scoffs. Just what does he have here besides him?

A hand is being raised as Mado carefully touches the shoulder of his daughter, shaking it softly, trying to wake her up. She fell asleep while studying again and even if he doesn’t like the fact that her sleeping schedule could be better, seeing her spirit grow to do the same things as he does every day ... it fills him with pride. Still, if she wants to sleep, she has to get to bed and if she would’ve been younger, he could’ve just carried her there, but now - well, now, her pride is in the way. A small laugh escapes his lips at the thought. They really are father and daughter, aren’t they. ❝Come on, go to bed. You can continue working tomorrow, the books won’t run away from you.❞

Getting home by train isn’t something he likes doing - in the evenings, they are more than just crowded and whenever he’s taking the train, he always has to stand. What’s not the best for a man with an already bad back. But his car is in a workshop at the moment and he wanted to get to his daughter as soon as possible. So here he is, standing between several people and feeling how his briefcase swings around dangerously. Until the inevitable happens; he hears a harsh sound, metal against skin and a pained noise. Seems like he hit someone. Mado quickly tries to retreat his case and looks at the girl standing a little left from him.

❝I apologize, I didn’t mean to hit you with that. Are you okay?❞

THE very same eyes which the elder investigator takes notice of blink with the slow acknowledgement of the other’s words. It is an aloof response spurred  by the ghoul’s lack of interest– Doves come and go  in the 4th ward, though they come much more often  then they go. A pale grin illuminates Uta’s face,  pierced lips parting to let out a chuckle. He wasn’t  particularly hungry, but his devilish nature reveled in playing with his FOOD.

[♚]——–  “ Oh, really? These are sclera tattoos– they must be pretty convincing since a ghoul investigator has mistaken me for a MONSTER. So, Investigator-san, would you take the risk of attacking someone who could be human? Or are your morals really that thin? ”

❝Oh, have I insulted you with that? Then I guess I have to apologize.❞ ... He’s not really doing that, of course. The man in front of him is still a suspect and he can’t help but notice that he’s just as cheeky as a lot of other ghouls he met ... and killed. If his instincts aren’t fooling him, he’s just another piece of trash on his long list. So why bother.

Mado’s gaze is glued onto the other’s eyes, never leaving them, watching, observing, thinking. Until he decides to act, gripping his two briefcases tighter, ready to defend himself anytime. ❝I’d never attack a mere suspect, but as you should now, we investigators do everything to keep the civilization safe, so your name and a little blood sample would be enough.❞

                   “comrade?” he laughs, a low sound buried deep within his throat. “he was more of an annoyance than a comrade, i was going to kill him anyway if you hadn’t.” still hidden within the darkness of the starless sky, “i am much stronger than he could have ever been, chéri. however, you’ll find that out soon enough.” a smile plastered to his lips.

   “i’m sure you’ve heard of me, mister. you people call me the ‘head hunter’. a very fitting title if i should say myself, i applaud you all.” in which he does, hands clapping together in a mocking manner, walking back and forth in the darkness. “of course, that won’t stop me from killing you. a respect i do have, but not enough to keep you alive.”

                                             “it’s my job after all, to eliminate you all.”

The head hunter. Out of pure luck, he found the head hunter, one of the troublemakers in the Wards. He didn’t even had to work for it - ah, so no ghoul killing with his apprentice Amon to get information about him. No, he has this ghoul all to himself. In one movement, he strokes the bangs in the front of his face away and laughs quietly, smile crooked, right eye widened.

❝Your job? Your job is it to be elminated, you disgusting piece of trash. Do you really think you can win against me?❞ It seems like he’s one of those ghouls who believe humans are insects they can just step onto to kill them, and it annoys the hell out of Mado. In a few minutes, you won’t be able to smile at him like that anymore, ghoul.

                         Well now this was a surprise… Jaw tightened as the young rabbit set her sights upon a certain dove whom she had been stalking for the past week or so… With hands stuffed into hoody pockets, thumb twirling the volume down on her ipod, a feigned pleasant expression was given. Days earlier, a mask had been worn in the shape of a human, a facade necessary to get just that one step closer. For days, she envisioned how she would do it…deciding upon that of her own bare hands. She wanted to watch the light fade from his eyes…feel that last dying breath. After all, it was the exact same thing he did when Ryouko-san knelt before him.

                        “Ah, yeah.” She offered a half grin, pulling an earbud from her ear, tone taking form of a curious, enthusiastic teenager. “I think I remember seeing you on my way out. You actually work there?” 

❝Of course I do.❞ The satisfication of the fact that his intuition didn’t fail him runs through his veins as he listens to her pathetic excuse. She was the one who protested so stubbornly as he demanded to talk with them in private ... in a room they could only enter after passing the gate which recognizes ghouls. And the little friend she brought with her may be human, but she ... she’s still a girl with a fake identity who tried to get information from them about the daughter of the woman he killed. If she wants revenge? If she’s angry? After all, the precious little girl’s face is known by a lot of agents and it won’t last long until they’ll hunt her down.

He’s already looking forward to finding it out. ❝I told you that I’m in charge of that case, didn’t I? And I still have some questions, since you didn’t have the ... time to answer them back then.❞

Hide shook as he forced himself up. A large gash had been inflicted on his shoulder, this in which had been the cause of his fall. He looked up at the man and felt himself growing tense and embarrassed inwardly but was in too much pain to show it.  “..I need help, but.. I don’t want to make my situation public.” Hideyoshi stood up and tried to reach for his bike again but the searing pain made once a simple, mundane task difficult for him causing him to lose his balance but quickly regain it once more as he finally took a good hold of it. 

“..I recognize you. You’re Mado, aren’t you?”

❝Yes, that would be me.❞ The injury is pretty obvious and Kureo tries to hide the fact that he’s indeed entertained by the scene. Showing it would be incredibly rude, wouldn’t it? He may look frightening, but he’s not a monster. Not yet. So he watches how the boy staggers, clings to his bike as he loses his balance and almost falls over, but ends up standing on his own two feet anyway. Why should he want to keep this private? It’s just a scratch on the shoulder, isn’t it? What’s wrong about going to a hospital because of that?

His instincts kick in, and he’s suddenly not so sure if that’s really a human before him. But for now, he won’t do anything dangerous ... if he doesn’t find another reason to be worried, that is. ❝How do you know who I am, if I may ask?❞

He really thought that his daughter doesn’t need him to search for clothes anymore, but the little twelve-years-old Akira wanted him to come along this time, anyways. Now he’s awkwardly standing between several skirts and short trousers and watches how the girl hesitantely lurks around, trying to find something that fits her, throwing unsure gazes at him from time to time. &’ of course he’s getting those weird glances from other women around him again. Sometimes, it’s really not easy to be a single father.

He can hear him, feel him in the shadows, just like he did it with the dead ghoul laying to his feet a few minutes ago. Originally, his job was done after killing him and he wanted to look if he can obtain his kagune, to build himself another quinque with it, but Vincent disturbed him. And if there’s one thing Kureo doesn’t like, then those pieces of trash who disturb him while doing his job and filling out the task he set himself.

If Mado wouldn’t have seen how the other one lost his patch as directly as he did, he wouldn’t even have bothered with picking it up and walking after the boy. But, really, the other one has to be in deep thoughts if he didn’t even notice how the loose knot of his eyepatch opened itself, allowing the article to fall to the ground. A smile lays on his lips and he tries to widen both of his eyes evenly, to not freak him out too much. He’s just trying to be friendly.

The thing that caught his attention weren’t the tattoos or the piercings the other one is wearing, Kureo doesn’t really care about those things - what caught his interest were the black eyes of the young man, looking exactly like every average kakugan. ❝You have very interesting eyes❞, he points out while leaning towards the black-haired male, grin wide, already smelling a change of having found another piece of trash to erase. ❝They look exactly like the ones ghouls have, did you know that?❞

He can barely keep the amusement out of his voice as he watches the boy who’s laying in front of him. He just fell aside, along with his bike, without any sign of resistance and Mado guesses that he’s sick or lost consciousness for a second. Now, the blonde guy groans and holds his head, & instead of passing the street like everyone else, Kureo stands still and considers putting his briefcase down. The traffic light will go over to green another time, he can’t just let a human being lay around here. Other’s would surely stomp onto him. (He didn’t really think of the fact that his appearance may be frightening for some and that seeing him after collapsing could go wrong, too, but oh well.)

Now, isn’t that a surprise. The girl that’s standing on the other side of the shelf looks incredibly similar to the one that bumped into him at CCG. It’s late - it’s always late when Mado’s going out to buy the ingredients he and his daughter need for their living, work keeps him busy enough - and he always visits different shops in different parts of the city to not lose control of the peaceful wards and perhaps gather some new tracks. & here she is - headphones hidden under black hair, no glasses, but the same features, the same figure. There’s no doubt that it’s her and Mado acts out of instinct. As soon as she’s still with him here, around other humans, she won’t make a big scene if he asks her to come with him. Which is why he slowly steps around the shelf and faces Touka, a polite smile on his lips.

❝It’s a surprise to meet you here, Miss. Could it be that you’re one of the ... witnesses who visited the CCG a few days before?❞
