Now now BEFORE yall raise your pitchforks and torches at me, I want to specifiy that this is not just one of those “ugh this weird person on Tumblr has problems with something everyone likes because OF COURSE they do 🙄”

It’s actually a thread I’ve seen on Twitter from someone talking about the implications of this scene from a place of very personal perspective, putting to words why this scene doesn’t really work once looked at throughly. I’ve talked about my issues with this panel in the past, but that was mostly due to how it was used from the worst side of Superman fanboys rather than its actual content.
