me when the character's an absolute asshole with one goal in mind and is willing to go through any means possible to achieve that goal, and he is constantly being trailed by his companion who, despite going along with all his schemes, knows that this all is doomed to fail in the end
been so obsessed with them lately they drive me crazy

every day i am thankful to ancient humans for the domestication of the cat. fucking genius idea. agriculture was a good one too btw but you really outdid yourselves with the cat thing

been very normal lately about the thought of a character having to interact with their younger self. look dead into the eyes of the person you used to be and try to have a conversation with them. perhaps the situation will be horrid and painful and uncomfortable and honestly it's more fun if it is. do you dread to see what you once were? do you loathe them for the fact that they are you?
this is because of them btw. what if you hated the innocence your younger self carried. what if you hated the young boy you once were. what if you didn't even recognise yourself in him. what if your younger self, in return, did not know how he would ever end up like you. what if you both were actively being tormented by this; you by the placidity of your past self, and him by the hostility of you. what if it was your own past self seeking to cause your downfall, because you tried to harm his friends. what if you were so desperate to achieve your goal that you were willing to harm a child in hopes of getting it.
