They are all happy for the witch who gets adopted, but they also cry at night thinking of all their sisters who they haven't seen since they left.

Random Headcanon #5 The way the custom of putting lost mittens, gloves, and hats on the branches of nearby trees and bushes got started was one person did it as a joke, like they thought it would be funny if it looked like the tree was trying to keep its fingers warm, later the person who lost that mitten was so grateful to have found it even after it had snowed, that they started doing it and told all their friends about it so they all started doing it. Now all Minnesotans do it, it's not something we learn, it's just instinct.
