yo whats your bad end au? Am curious about it and can't find much info
Hiiii!!! Wow, havent thought about bad end au in a while. I really miss it (Says the guy who created it and can make content of it pretty much whenever she wants to) But I'm really glad you're curious about it (after its been... what, like a year? Maybe 2 now, idk)
Its a thing I came up with right after the capital city mafia episode dropped which was basically a what if scenario where instead of running off to the farlands parrot and the crew, or more specifically wifies, agreed to ash's offer to join because they felt like there was no other option any longer.
I never really elaborated on it, though I wanted to write something short/draw a comic but hehe... oops... I was busy with studies also so rip🥲
I have a chance now! These are just disconnected thoughts and ramblings, but hopefully it's something you find interesting!
(Its been a while since I've seen season 1, so I may be forgetting many things!!!)
Prepare for a LOOOONG rant and also forgive my many mistakes typos etc, english not my first language yada yada also I typed this out at night with only 10% of power left on my phone 🥹
When the episode JUST dropped, I thought of the crew struggling to agree to Ash's offer because they didn't want to be another cogs in the big destruction machine ash was building. Seeing them so hesitant but refusing to let go of Wifies and Parrots potential (I mean come on, smartest players, they're basically op for brainwashing newbs and planning wars on the remnants of civilizations still hiding), Ash decides to let them have an intern-like deal, where they can stay visivle and work under Red in Capital city and slowly make their way up the ladder. He broke Dean already, he was on his side (now we know he was still working for the mafia in the farlands, so Dean's betrayal doesnt happen technically), He just managed to break Wifies (he knows Parrot is his weakness, and the fact Wifies agreed to the deal showed him he was winning), Now he just has to break Parrot, let him think he's an idiot, let him believe he can play along untill he gets the chance to revolutionize against Ash and then show him that his plan was obvious from the very start, that he cant free everyone, that right after Ash said "join me" he knew Parrot would never give up on trying to get rid of him. Its obvious just by the way Parrot looks at Ash. With anger and disgust. He doesn't even try to hide it. Well, that's Parrot for you alright!
I was thinking that Ash, as a sort of "welcoming ceremony", humiliates Parrot in some sort of way. If you want something mor artistic and dramatic - clipping his wings and taking away his claws forever. But if you're more into "its just a game" thing, then it could also be just stirring up drama between the 3 of them. You know, insulting his friends saying that they betrayed him (they did, Parrot knows) but the bird refuses to acknowledge that. Still, wifies and dean feel extremely guilty. But it was for the greater good! At least for them to stay alive...
All is pretty much alright. Parrot still hates the idea (and is also probably in lots of mental (and physical, if you will) pain), but everything is kind of just. Quiet. Ash rarely checks in on them. Personally, at least. There are plenty of guards in the city, but now they at least dont need to hide from them or sneak around. It feels weird to be allied with them. But whatever. The trio mostly looks after the mines. Despite them freeing the previous workers, the mines are still working. Most of the prisoners there are trimless mafialings: clumsy and inexperienced. They probably couldn't handle the easiest tasks, so they were sent there to not be a bother to better players.
So basically a routine where Parrot tries to cope with his situation. Dean is quiet most of the time because of his guilt (and he's also often blackmailed by Ash about his choices to save his own skin and choosing to keep working with the mafia before capital city). Wifies also feels guilty for agreeing to the deal on Parrot's part. But he did it to keep him safe (yeah, Wifies is mostly battling with himself here though. Is he wrong to keep his friend alive by giving away their freedom?
Ok! Capital city rant over! Now onto the Mafia base. Mwe he he, when it was first introduced I shouted "BINGO" out loud!!! I LOOOOVE the aesthetics of the place. The strong dominate the weak, live in better conditions, but also get harder tasks they have to complete (though the deadline is bigger than on lower levels).
Once I watched the Spoke infiltration video, I knew I had to revisit the bad end au!!!
I haven't really thiught on how Parrot could "rank up" to move out of capital city and now become a part of mafia completely, not as a normal diamond trim, but more of a planner, an advisor, if you will. Someone to look after the whole place and ensure all the rules are followed. Now that I think about it, if Ash wants to break Parrot by keeping up the illusion that he's smarter than the mafial leader, then I suppose Parrot doesnt need to do anything genuinely interesting to "prove his loyalty".
Anyways, the trio moves over from Capital city to the main base and thats where Parrot starts to behave interestingly. He starts subconsciously mirroring Ash and Wifies starts noticing that, though there was a difference.
If Ash praises the strong amd punishes the weak, Parrot comforts the unfortunate and unlucky. If out of 10 players there can only be one winner, while Ash talks to the lucky player, Parrot encourages others to follow him instead. And it works. Parrot slowly builds his own secret army he can use against Ash. But Parrot doesn't do it because he feels sorry for them. They're nothing more than tools to him, just like he is a tool to Ash. "It was their choice. They could've chosen to rebel, but they didnt, therefore they're evil". Of course it doesn't affect himself, he's rebelling! Just in secret. He never joined Ash's side. But others did. But its okay, he'll replace Ash and become a much better leader.
(Yup! Parrot slowly goes from "i will free everyone" to "I will replace Ash" and starts using his intelligence to manipulate other invis players into preferibg him as a ruler instead of Ash. Parrot is nicer. Parrot is gentler. He's more just and softer. He's scary when he blackmails, but if you behave he'll protect you 🥺)
Wifies doesnt approve, but because he still feels guilty about pulling Parrot into this whole situation. Besides, Parrot is his best friend! Doesn't he trust his best friend when he says "I'm not evil, they are, besides, I'm saving them, they should be greatful, it's for the greater good"
We talked about Parrot, but since its a BAD END au, then we need to know what would happen to other protags, yeah?
When Spoke was infiltrating the mafia as "Fish bucket", Parrot managed to quickly figure out his identity, thanks to his abilities (and Wifies help). He uses it to blackmail Spoke, so when Mapicc and Spoke have a disagreement, Spoke, though he wants to listen to Mapicc, can't leave now. Mapicc leaves. For good. And Spoke is now "Fish bucket", forced to live a double... triple live now, as Ash's favourite diamond trim (diamond with no fight challenge thanks to Parrot, more on that later), Parrot's personal spy to keep tabs on Ash, and secretly mafia's most wanted dead player Spoke. He's really miserable and he has no one to talk to about it asides from Wifies, but that happens very rarely. They're still on weird twrms after that chunkban, even if its silly in their situation. Spoke just gets used to the constant silence. He keeps causing chaos on Ash's command and he listens to Parrot, helping him scheme. Such is his nature.
Parrot manipulates Flamefrags into following him and helping him conspire against Ash. His personal knight, no, just a weapon, a sword. And he was honest about it. No bullshit, no fancy lies, no flattery. If he was really the srongest, he would've been able to kill Wemmbu that one time he held egg hostage. But he didn't. Is he a fraud? Poor Flamefrags. But its okay. His skills aren't appreciated enough here by Ash, but Parrot knows just how much value Flame holds.
These two hate eachothers guts. Flame especially. But they're extremely honest about it. Probably the most honest duo here. Besides, a bonus is that they can't betray eachother. Flame, blinded by anger that is caused by Parrot's constant ragebaiting has no one to go to. He has no friends. He's a solo player. Even if there's anything he doesn't like, he'll have nothing else to do but to crawl back quietly and keep his end of the deal. His morals wouldn't allow him not to keep a promise. Such is his nature.
Parrot would never betray Flame. He's useful. And if he ever decided to get rid of him, he'd tell him, honestly "I dont need you anymore". After all, he did say Flame was just a tool to him, not his friend. Once you're done using something it eventually breaks and you throw it away.
There are some good things to come out of their interactions. For once, Parrot introduces Flame to Dean, asking the demon to train him up so that Dean can at least defend himself if need be. Flame gets along with him surprisingly well, though he's shy to admit it. He's a solo player, he doesn't need friends! Even though friends are... kinda cool to have in this situation.
And lastly Wemmbu. I left him for last because he's, well, he never joins the mafia. Any time he comes across a batch of invis players he manages to hold them off surprisingly well. He's not oit saving lives. He's not trying to bring down this evil organization. Wemmbu really only cares for his and Egg's well-being. He once gets contacted by Parrot for a job. Parrot convinces Wemmbu he's not part of the mafia because he's visible and isnt wearing an eye trim, so he brings up a proposal to trap and kill a diamond player for the loot. "I need that trim to go undercover, you'll help me, right? You can take their whole loot" and it works. The diamond trim player is dead. That trim was used to promote Spoke peacefully.
("Fish bucket killed that player themselves, sure we weren't there Ash, but it counts as a duel, right? If fish bucket was honest about it, then they deserve this, and if they're lying, then it'll come around to bite them back in the end. Surely they can have a chance, I mean they already proved their loyalty and worth by climbing to gold this fast")
Wemmbu never cares for any revolutions. He travels from civilization to civilization (or whats left). Soon enough there's no place that wasn't destroyed or conquered by the mafia. Wemmbu doesn't see any use trying to free the server. All he and egg want is a peaceful life away from the boring mafia regime. They're last seen at farlands (or so Parrot was told) and then never heard of again on the server.
In truth Wemmbu left beyond farlands in the glitched terrain where he finds og players and, because he's looking for peace and occasional non-lethal duels and not strength or a weapon of mass destruction, he gets along with the og players and becomes part of their friend group. For him and egg compared to everyone else all is pretty much well (still he's bored of the routine)
In the end Parrot's revolution is a success. Ash miscalculated Parrot's moves. He expected Parrot to rebel and that he'd back down the moment he had to use some cheap trick or a genuine manipulaton, but he didn't and that surprised Ash. He couldn't believe Parrot even admitted that he enjoyed using people as tools. And though it felt good at first to know he managed to bring out Parrot's true colors, it was already too late for Ash, Parrot went too far and to think Ash knew about it all along and even allowed it to happen right before his very eyes. Parrot was even more dangerous than he imagined. But oh well, too late for him.
Ash is banned off the server and Parrot, as the only candidate really, takes over. He's not met with much resistance as he's already got a significant amount of players on his side. Its now Parrot's mafia.
Aaand thats pretty much it!!! I haven't figured out what I wanna do after that, I havent thought this out much at all!!! There are so many minor details I wanna explore like
Parrot and Wifies relationship in this scenario
How Dean telling about his possible betrayal could go
Parrot and Ash parallels
Parrot's morals and how he sees himself as a good person, no as the most saint person on the server
Wifies guilt and how it makes the director become a persona puppeteered by Parrot
Flame and Parrot duo and how they're complete opposites of eachother yet they work together so well!
Wemmbu being the only protag who's more or less safe from the misery but his curse here being constant boredom. Will he break? When? And how?
Spoke slowly becoming isolated from everyone and going insane silently, losing himself.
Should Parrot get betrayed by someone he trusts? Who would conspire against him in his new empire? Will he ever come to his senses?
So many things to explore! But theres just not nearly enough time for me to write about all of it!!!
Thats the end of the post, I hope this was somewhat informative and interesting to anyone reading this far!!!
If you have any questions regarding the au or want to propose a headcanon or want to analyse a character in a situation or hust ANYTHING feel free to reblog with your thoughts or send it in my askbox, I'll gladly read it!!!
I will not go into the weeds on this post, but basically, he indoctrinates himself in the "infiltrating the mafia" episode and eventually becomes a diamond trim. Yes, Ash knows it's Spoke, he made him test his loyalty to prove himself to the mafia
