Thinking about OkoHoshi's (the most direct and recurrent one between the two, at least) love language being an expression of affection through acts of service for each other like making coffee for each other while they go through endless reports and Hoshina sometimes briefly runs his fingers through her hair without a word or massages her shoulders to ease up her sore muscles or distracts her for a minute or two as they take a break with cute & fun videos he found and saved up just to show them to her later on or by just talking and acting silly and meanwhile Okonogi sometimes shows up at work with sweets to share and munch onto together or shows him her newest purchase, whether it's something cute or some accessory of sorts or whatever got her interest that she ended up buying and, *coincidentally*, she also ends up buying gadgets for him that match with her own and gifts them to him, and sometimes just because she "happened to have some free time in her hands" she also brings him some nice food she cooked herself for them to share and the *both* of them sometimes end up buying stuff for each other that ends up being the same type of article, as in that, like, she gets him a new pair of mittens because the weather's what it is when it's winter and, would you look at that, he, too, had thought about doing the same thing and so they end up gifting to each other the same type of thing just because they wanted for the other to keep themself warm and cozy and take care and stuff like that just keeps happening, tho it's a from time to time kinda thing. I also have been thinking about how Okonogi (probably, yk) makes Hoshina feel safer and reassured and motivates him during battles against kaijus and her voice is a constant reminder to him of whom he has "secretly" sworn to himself to return safely to once it's all over and, as for the other way around, the fact that Hoshina is always just extra silly around her and all makes Okonogi feel happy and lucky because that is Vice-Captain Hoshina, yes, and yet, around her, he feels safe enough to just be whiny sometimes and he tries not to make her worry and all, yes, but that doesn't mean he won't be vulnerable around her if the occasion allows it, and so, like, they never exactly said it out loud, but these two, for each other, they're simultaneously the one they want to protect and keep safe and treasure the most and they *are* each other's shelter and the one both of them can be vulnerable with and show tiredness around and they feel at ease simply by being in each other's presence...ฅ^•ﻌ•^ฅ💖 *also also*, kinda canon thing, iykyk, but, like, Hoshina is like some sorta muse to Okonogi and he, no doubt, is the one person she has taken pictures of the most and every single one is like a small treasure to her because he just *lets* her do so and trusts her and she wants to treasure it and treasure him and treasure all of the photos and treasure his smiles, every single one of them. Last thing I wanna add is that I've been thinking about Hoshina just, like, approaching Okonogi from behind and resting his forehead onto her shoulder or the top of his head against her back with extra gentleness and whenever he does he just goes like– "Just for one minute. Just a minute.", and Okonogi understands and simply complies and she wishes she could pet his hair and rub a hand on his back slowly to further reassure him, but the very few times he'd ever let her do that much he'd always feel stiff just because he's stubborn and doesn't want to ”burden her too much” and so now this is just kind of their thing and, both simply because she wants it herself and also to make him feel like he's already "returning the favor", sometimes she, too, relies on him through physical contact and rests her head against his arm from the side or bumps her face against his chest lightly and returns to him that one same rule of sorts of theirs by whispering "Just a minute." 🧡💜
