Out of 19000+ followers I have, only one of you actually reblogged about this issue, yet a lot of you have reblogged and liked a picture by playboy about catcalling and that how men should never do it.

Important LGBT+ Community topic

You know what's sad, I had to deal with LGBT+ members being unsupportive not once, but three times. Here is what I mean by unsupportive:

On these occasions, I have dealt with members of the community who are transphobic and or against genderqueers. Lgbt+ members who harass genderqueer folks. I can't fathom anyone who has to struggle to be who they are thinking that others like them are 'disgusting' and 'sinful'. These people were using derogatory names towards my associates and I, ones that I will not mention because of how devastating it felt to hear those yelled at me.

This has happened to me three times, each time the people had turned aggressive when I mentioned I am genderqueer. I was insulted, laughed at, and cornered by these people who I was supposed to feel safe around, people who were in the same boat I'm in. Idk how many people have to deal with what I've been through, but I'm making it known this shit isn't ok. The lgbt+ community is a safe community where people are supposed to feel respected for who they are.

I have yet to hear about other cases, but I know they exist because everyone has opinions and judgements. But targeting and hating members of lgbt+ while being lgbt is a serious problem. We have to fight against people who are cis or straight and anti-LGBT+ already! So having one of our own community against us is like kicking one of our own legs out from under us!! How can we gain support when we don't have the support of our peers around us?

So spread the word, there will be no lgbt+ members attacking other members, if you don't agree with who they are question yourself:

"People who didn't support me made me feel _____ and now I'm treating others like me the same way."

Let's make our community a safe place for EVERYONE in it. Stand together and help one another through their struggles.
