↺ REPLAY   AEMI + RAON, ( chicks over dicks )      … headcanon. april 1st, 2015 ; …

 . . . the door creaked opened with a tall male figure walking out. He made sure to close the door behind him as quietly as possible and proceeded to the kitchen with a small grin. The place was definitely foreign to him but he tried his best to find the frying pan and eggs. He searched around in the apartment where roommates Aemi and Raon lived. Why was he there? Dear Nana brought home a toy last night and he didn’t escape at dawn, unlike the other males. The eggs sizzled on the hot pan and he looked all over the cover boards for a plate which woke up one of the girls.

Chu Aemi's door opened with a half-asleep, half-opened eyes Aemi stomping out. Her gaze fell upon the stranger in the kitchen. Before she could even go to the bathroom, she brushed her hair back and approached him. She didn't say anything but simply observed him and waited until he finished with his cooking. The stranger moved from side to side with the hot pan and moved the eggs to the plate. He finally turned around and jumped in his step after he found the sleepy Aemi staring back at him. "Woah... Nana... you didn't look like that last night." 

She stared at him, unamused with his comment. "I'm her roommate." He chuckled and bowed his head in an apology. He presented the eggs in front of her without any further words. She eyed him up and down before she opened up her mouth to speak again. "You seem nice and all, but I need you to put on a shirt and get out." 

"What--?" He couldn't believe his ears and stood frozen in his spot. "Get out... or I'll call the police to say a man trespassed into two pretty girls’ dorm." With such threats in the morning, he quickly got angry and was about to yell back. He scoffed in disbelief until he saw the phone in her hand. Truthfully, he had been involved with the police a few times before and wasn't looking for any other future incidents. 

"Hello?! THERE'S SOMEONE IN MY DORM... HE'S HALF NAKED AND..." She screamed into her phone without having anyone on the other line. He fell for it and quickly grabbed his shirt and stumbled towards the door. 

Angel Raon woke up with the mixture of the screams and door slamming as he ran out and she pulled herself out of bed. She put on an oversized hoodie to cover her bare body and walked outside. 

"Morning! I made us eggs!" Aemi greeted her roommate with a bright smile. Raon pulled a smile with her eyelids practically closed. "Thank you for taking out the trash," Raon replied to her, assuming that’s exactly happened. 

It wasn't the first time Aemi cleaned up for Raon and hopefully, it won't be the last. Aemi always had a way to get rid of those that wanted to linger after a one-night stand. It seemed like males nowadays were the clingy one. Raon walked around the counter and took out some toast and put it in the toaster. Aemi already took her first bite as a reward for removing the guy. "It's so good! Maybe we should have kept him..." 

"It better be good. I think he said he's in culinary school or something. He talked too much last night." Raon complained and gave a piece of toast to her roommate. "One thing for sure, my eggs weren't rattled at all last night... he was horrible." Aemi giggled at her friend's words and kept chewing. "Ahhh!" Raon said and gestured for Aemi to open her mouth for the piece of toast coming her way . . .

⦅ @ryuyian ⁝ flipped the coin ⊷ heads ;       “ you only see me in the dark ”

     -- She took her quick and light steps towards the middle of the library. There was always that one seat she sat on, that practically had her name printed on it at this time of day. She hurried towards the seat with a workbook in her hand. Her hips swayed back and forth as she manoeuvred between the students already at the table. Ah, this is the seat. 

At this time of day, the sun was shining in the opposite direction; which was, again, perfect. The very perfect seat was just right next to the window facing the field. She often blanked out in the middle of studying and watched the teams practice. She mostly caught the football practices where the captain, Ryu Yian, barked orders and ran around under the sun.

If someone had mistakenly kicked the ball at someone’s head, or someone simply tripped on the grass, Raon found herself laughing along with the team and cheering them on. She was always a live audience member but none of them knew a pair of eyes were watching so closely. Even if she was in front of one them, it was like she was invisible all over again. 

Pft, to think she was Sosurim’s beauty when the football captain easily walks past her. Guys say they want a prim and proper girl but their eyes always levitate towards the sexy ones. Innocent, little Raon was no better than a fly to that captain but the moment she squeezed into a tight, short dress in the club, she was all he could see. 

   (flashback) It was some holiday where all the students made it a point to hit the clubs that night. Raon turned into Nana and enjoyed the night just like any other college student did. Drinks, shots, dirty dancing, and so on. From across the club, her eyes met with a male simply standing there with his friends. The club lights were luckily shining on him at that moment which made his features glow in the dark building. 

With a little liquid courage and the Nana persona locked in, she approached him with her clickling heels. She picked up a random drink on the way and waited for him to move from his spot. The moment he started walking, she bumped into him with a drink. Her liquid splashed over her chest and strapless dress and she glared at him with her smokey make up. “Ah! Ow...” She faked her whine and moved her hair back and waited for him to react and clean her up.

 ↺ REPLAY   HAON + RAON, ( sibling ties )       . . . headcanon. october 8th, 2014 ; . . .

     . . . 3am and the young teenager was finally home. The house was empty with all of the maids asleep and her parents out to another overseas meeting. It was just her and her little brother, and being the kid he was, he must have been asleep. But to her luck, the kitchen lights were all on and a kid peaked his head out of the refrigerator. 

“Haon-ah, shouldn’t you be asleep? You have school tomorrow.” She took quick little steps towards her brother and brushed his hair back. “You can’t sleep?” He didn’t say much but shook his head with an apple in his mouth, his teeth already sunken in. “Needed a snack to study with.” 

She turned around and looked at the clock again, 3:14. Her chest rose and fell with a deep sigh as helped him carry the bags of chips towards his room. “I told you. Sleep is more important than whatever the school tells you to study. I’ll take care of you when I’m older. Just enjoy your life.” She patted his back with a warm hand and walked into his room with him. 

A child should be just that, a child. The education system in Korea only taught kids that suffering was worth it... so they could suffer more when they get a job. Studying for hours, workbook after workbook... that this was somehow going to get them successful. The best students were those who studied the best. Artistic ability, passion, creativity, that was all frowned upon because it took away from the black and white text. 

No, just no. Raon swore she’d suffer enough for the both of them. He should be at the bottom of his class. He should never open a book or lift a finger. Just live off of their family’s money and her money. He deserved a relaxing life. 

“Just watch a drama or something and fall asleep, okay?” She patted his head again and started dusting his bed off. “Noona, who will take care of you when you’re older?” The question came out of the blue, but she kept her composure and fluffed him his pillows with a warming smile. “I’ll take care of myself. We don’t need anyone, just each other.” 

The answer didn’t satisfy him. Even a kid like him knew something was off, that she was... off. Why was she coming home at 3am in a short dress? Why did she wear a smile when she suffers so much? He hoped with age, he’d understand more but it’s been years and he still only has a few pieces of the puzzle. 

“Noona... you better rely on me too.” He tried to threaten her since he knew a small suggestion wouldn’t go a long way. She gathered the candy wrappers, chip bags, untouched fruits, and headed towards the door. Her sorrow eyes and curved lips said it all. ‘I can’t rely on anyone’, ‘I love you and I trust you but there’s nothing you can do’, ‘Don’t worry about me, I’ll pretend to stay strong for us’. But those words were never spoken. 

Instead...“I already do. Goodnight, saeng.” . . .
