SWEET TEA, YA'LL. It's that time of year. Every cuppa is better over ice and we prefer ours with a heavy dose of Southern charm.
We recommend our Fifth Avenue Black seasonal blend for this recipe, it was created with sweet tea in mind. We take ours served with a few fresh raspberries in the glass as well.
We tried out this yellow submarine tea infuser this week. It's so cute! We had very high hopes.
Here's what we like:
The infuser is made of flexible silicone which makes it easy to load and easy to clean.
The cap is attached to the body of the infuser so it's easy to keep the parts together.
It's a good size and allows for bulky herbal blends to move freely during steeping
Here's what we didn't love:
A lot of debris escapes through the holes and ends up in the cup or tea pot.
For most cups (like the tea cup pictured at the right) the infuser is going to sit on the bottom of the cup instead of float freely. We moved it to a small tea pot (which makes two cups of tea) and found that it steeped better that way.
The chain is almost comically long. The hook that is meant to anchor it to the side of a cup is effectively useless, but since the chain is so long it's easy to just loop it round a handle (as pictured above) to secure it place.
All in all, an entirely functional infuser but not a favorite in the Rare Meadow test kitchen. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram for more of our favorites and updates. (Also we might occasionally post pictures of our spokesdogs, Yaeger and Bulleit. They're pretty cute.)
Brewed just right! Here are our recommendations for how to get the perfect cuppa.
Here are two of our favorite things: Polaroid pictures and tea cups. (Plus bonus favorite: cookies!)
