Can't believe something this beautiful has such few views, go show this critter creator some love!
Oh, hi! That’s me! Thank you for sharing, and thank you so, so much to everyone who left some love on this! <3 I finished CR1 a few weeks ago, and it has Consumed My Every Waking Hour and compelled me to try and make something that could even begin to encompass what a wild ride it was. Can’t express enough how much I appreciate everyone I could share VM feelings with.
“I, for a brief time, thought that I had died within that prison and I was having a fever dream from starvation and this was what that felt like, was my mind making stories of friends and adventures and these things I would never do because I was a coward and fool. I miss my family so much and I've done some terrible things.”

Artist Spotlight: The Noteworthy Nick
Name, pronouns, fanart socials, anything else about you that you want to share?
Hi! I’m Nick, I use he/him pronouns. I started listening to Dungeons and Daddies because, if I recall correctly, my friend told me, “Freddie Wong plays a dad with a son named Nick.” I’m all over the place in terms of social media accounts, but most my DnDads art tends to find its way to my Twitter or Tumblr. I’m much more active on the former!
What was the first DnDads art you made? What made you decide to create it?
The first piece I published was of all the dads together. I was just really enamored with the podcast and its characters, and I loved seeing everyone else’s designs. It’s great how everyone’s designs are so unique yet recognizable.
Do you remember the first DnDads art you saw? What was it?
I don’t think it was the very first art I saw, but I do remember seeing @evans-endeavors’ art of Ron’s thighs early on. That left a lasting impression on me. Truly mesmerizing.
What’s something or someone from DnDads that you haven’t drawn, but would like to?
I’d definitely like to do a more traditional illustration, maybe an action scene or something environmental. I love seeing characters exist in a space, and I think that was partially what I wanted out of my comic. When I’m listening to a podcast (or playing DnD!), I have a hard time “seeing” what’s happening so much as getting a vague suggestion of it taking place, if that makes sense. What’s fun about podcast art is that you get to try and pin that feeling down on paper.
Can you describe your process to us?
Oh god, I don’t think I have a “process” other than direct-to-video, sketch-to-color. Sometimes there’s an intermediary clean lineart phase in there, or I’ll throw on some filters at the end. I’ve found that I have a pretty limited attention span, so I usually sit down and finish my most work in one sitting.
What is your signature as an artist?
Black lines and shadows? No one does that but me, haha. I’m a big believer in hiding the parts you don’t like in a heavy drop shadow.
What visual headcanons do you have for the characters, both those you’ve drawn and those you haven’t? Where did they come from? Do you have facecasts or other actual people you use as reference points?
I think my first and foremost prerogative is to spread my belief that most the dads are balding. Other than that, I think my visual headcanons for the dads tend to be influenced by the podcast cover art and what other fan artists have drawn. I probably spent the most time trying to nail down Ron–I think he’s run the gamut in my sketches from Danny Devito to Kip from Napoleon Dynamite. Glenn has always been Chris McLean, which I think someone pointed out on Twitter.
Is there a piece of art that’s gotten a reaction you didn’t expect? Tell us a little about that.
Maybe my art of Grant? Oh, and Darryl is there too. I had a lot of fun working on those pieces. I’m glad the depiction of Grant as Death resonated with people. I know people expressed interest in more cards, which I might still get around to! It might actually be fun to make it a collaborative thing with the community. :)
What is your art background?
I’ve been drawing for a while, in and out of formal and informal training. I cut my teeth as an artist drawing Pokemon and anime in binders of printer paper when I was 10. I grinded quite a bit in my last years of high school, forsaking academics and intending to go to an art school–I got in, but the price tag on these schools… whew. I nearly stopped drawing for a couple years after that, but I’m getting back into it. It’s been nice to re-evaluate my relationship to schooling, art, and work since then.
What’s the best way that people who enjoy your art can support you?
Nothing they’re not already! Thanks to everyone who likes and reblogs my art on here. It’s unfortunately hard for me to interact because I post my art on a sideblog, but I appreciate it a lot nonetheless. I tend to talk to people more on Twitter (I know I’m following several DnDads fan artists on there)!
Any message for the daddies?
I’m actually terrible about listening to podcasts without getting distracted, but Dungeons and Daddies has been the exception. It always makes me laugh, and I’m a sucker for a joke/gimmick being also the heart of the show. Thanks for all the work you put into it and the community you’ve fostered!
a magician is strong because she feels pain. she feels the difference between what the world is and what she would make of it. or what did you think that stuff in your chest was?
eliot cards based on the devil/death, part of my increasingly nonsensical series of fan art pieces that are the equivalent of throwing spaghetti on the wall hoping it will spell out my feelings about these characters
