Found out a local gay bar has a butch night via being low-key invited which sounds fun as fuck + Criminal Records is holding a big event to celebrate their 35th anniversary.

Think it's safe to say today was a good day.

One thing that is important for making different ynfg worlds that isn't brought up remotely enough is to pull inspiration from a lot of different sources, not just YNFG. Just look at Disco Elysium and how many things inspired it; books, tv shows, artists you name it.

Kinda long-ish so rest is under read me.

This world for example was inspired by Mike Huddleston, Farel Dalrymple, grunge aesthetics, and Atlanta graffiti. There was also neon dive bar bathroom graffiti, photos of messy alleyways, and my own experience with being depressed in a low income area.

I also listened to post-punk and coldwave playlists like this [Youtube Link] constantly to help, "Get in the zone and set the mood."

I think if you're an artist it's important to learn how to work pieces of yourself into your work even if the story you're telling isn't your own. It's going to happen one way or another. You don't have to wear your personality on your sleeve like me, but letting the unique parts of you reflect in your art is essential.
