Many a mickle maks a muckle right enough...
Sadly the cost of the renovations to Buck House and evil Westmonster really are an awfy wee mickle.
Buck House will cost £370m over then years, Westmonster around £5bn over at least 5 years.
Annually then their cost will equal 0.65% of the £158bn pensions budget for 2018 alone.
You might as well say ’Dinnae pit yer lippy awn, an’ ye’ll pay aff that £100K mortgage much quicker, hen...”

‘New tax plan could seriously impair health’
A shameful new plan to raise property taxes by charging per window will have serious impacts on health and wellbeing, it was asserted today. The Window Tax, proposed yesterday by Government to bolster dwindling finances, will undoubtedly lead to existing windows being closed up and new builds having fewer and smaller windows to avoid the duty on them, they say.
“This is a direct assault on the basic human right to daylight and fresh air. Poorer families will suffer disproportionately, and the elderly will be denied a vital source of Vitamin D,” said Scarlett Banner, head of protest group SashNotCash. “How many windows are there in Buckingham Palace? I bet they aren’t being taxed on them...”
A Treasury spokesperson dismissed the claims, saying the tax was fair and cost effective, “The more windows you have the richer you are: it really is as simple as that. Also this avoids the unnecessary and cumbersome bureaucracy involved in assessing property values or numbers of occupants that previous taxes have required.”
Campaigners have sworn to protest the measure, vowing that if necessary they will break every window they can. Social media is in uproar over the move, with the hashtag #nopanenogain trending within minutes of the announcement.
