Swan Song at Sundown

A solitary Mute Swan (Cygnus olor) swimming in the Heronry Pond in Wanstead Park. This was taken as low as the terrain would allow with the exposure biased 1-1/3 stops darker.

A group of London Cabbies, all part of the same Home Guard Unit take part in a training exercise - 6th Oct 1942. It was deemed the job of the Cabbies, in the event of an invasion of Britain to slow the German advance through Epping Forest

The Easter Hunt at Epping Forest, Plate Second

"Men ride horses from left to right, accompanied by dogs, three of whom have stopped to fight over a piece of meat. A sign at upper left points to "The Bald Stag," while another at right indicates the nearby presence of "The Old Green Man" (both public houses or inns). The etcher of this print has not been identified."
