#(not directing this at you op ship or don't ship what you want but this whole post just reminded me of this phenomenon)#if there's one thing i don't get it's when people forgive zelda for being mean to link at first then changing & not revali #like look at his dialogue on vah medoh and after the DLC blight fights: he changed #he's playful when guiding link to the terminals...he roots for him/expresses concern during the windblight fight...he acknowledges #link's accomplishments....he praises him when talking about the true competition they could have had....#though even in his Mean Days diary entries he was like 'i totally believe link won all these fights as a child'#(also 'why won't link notice me boohoo' lol this bird really flew off to sulk when his attempt to impress link failed)#& even earlier in his diary he had tried to befriend him!!! he thought link's silence was him snubbing him what a travesty #(i really think he had a chip on his shoulder for being neither high-born nor goddess-chosen like the other people in the group--#he also went from being the big bird on campus to having peers with equal abilities so that probably didn't help his self-esteem)#RIP what could have been if revali wasn't socially inept and link didn't struggle with communicating #(also note the absolute PARALLELS of these two low-born prodigies behaving in different but equally damaged ways...the foilness of it all #link can't bring himself to talk & revali can't shut up)#anyway i mainly ship post-calamity revalink (though the 'Get out of my school' energy revali has pre-calamity is incredibly funny to me #like literally the only words/thoughts from this idiot are 'LINK LINK i love rito village LINK LINK' he lives rent-free in revali's brain #and there's no indication that link cares at all about his nonsense; dare i say it's like a bird beating itself against a window LOLLL)#.....final note: Creating a Champion revealed that revali was created to be link's rival like he was literally made for him lollllllllllllll #hm this all kind of went off the rails i should probably revoke my blogging privileges whenever it hits 3am

#interesting interpretation of their AOC rivalry!#link pulled the sword late in that canon so there wasn’t any real reason for revali to beef (aside from link & impa slaying a bunch of rito)

Do you consider yourself much of a music appreciator? If given the option, what kind of music do you like to listen to? Anything you particularly dislike?

The rito consider musical performances and the action of learning music a sacred act. All our children are taught to sing, or play an instrument. Naturally, I did both, and two instruments, at that. I'm versed in the violin, and the Marimba. I haven't played since before the Calamity began, I was too preoccupied. Naturally I will continue to excel, but it wouldn't hurt to get a bit of practice in. I listen to whoever is willing to perform. As I said, the act of performing is sacred. Respect for the performer who is willing to bare a portion of their soul to the audience is ingrained, and in my opinion, correct. Critique is important for growth, but one who listens to another's performance just to insult it is... well, asanine, risible, and very likely, derisory. I'm interested in that hylian instrument, the ah, Harp, I believe. It's an interesting sound.

Random bored-at-work thoughts.

Something I've noticed a lot from running the Revali blog is that like. People online really do seem to perceive boastfulness and audacity as the most heinous of sins.

When you really stop to think about it, bragging about yourself doesn't actually hurt anyone - at worst it might slightly annoy people around you. Honestly, I kind of enjoy seeing people toot their own horn and blab about their achievements sometimes, even when it's to excess. I wish I could feel that kind of pride in myself and it makes me happy to see other people boast of their feats.

Revali having a huge ego doesn't erase the fact he gave his life to try and save Hyrule. He was a bit full of himself but like. That's okay. It's not a crime to be full of yourself.

I kinda like characters with human traits like that. Being selfish or jealous or fussy or stuck up or a braggart. People are messy and imperfect, they don't always do things for humble reasons, but it doesn't mean the things they do aren't still good. It doesn't mean that at heart, they aren't still good people. Even heroes. Sometimes, you can be kind of a dick and be a good person too, one doesn't erase the other. People are complex.
