Driven by the holy spirit

Republican college student at the time in my life when I need Gods direction most. Tried doing things my way and learned he makes all things come together for my good. This is where I come to express my feelings about his grace and gain knowledge in truth. Also one conservative in a pool of liberals at a California University, blogging is my outlet for political discussion and growth as an adult.

Lord I have truly learned to see that you place people in our lives for your Glory and purpose. I pray that through my uncertainties and fears about the future, regrets about the past, and burdens I weight on my shoulders can be lifted so that others may see the joy you have to offer. 

God you've seen me overcome my weakness through you. Your angels have seen where I've come from and I pray that you may let that be shown. Lord teach me to depend on you more and trust you more. Teach me to see You in all things because you are above all.

In my daily life I can easily get so unpatient and blinded to all there is going on around me. I become like the world when You've chosen me apart from it. Teach me to see my friends who've grown apart from you the way You see them. Set my heart on fire for You to its fullest extent. Lord You prepared to die on a cross for me because You and in Your preparation You prayed for me because You knew I would have to overcome the battles of this World. Lord the World is hard. It's really hard.

The pressure to graduate college and know what I'm doing. The pressure to be beautiful. The pressure to not only be intelligent but to be competitive with others in the workforce. It seems that with age life gets harder. God the pain of this World has caused people to drift further from You and as much as I still am figuring out to be strong of faith in this World, I ask that you'll allow me to bring others with me on this journey.

Enemy occupied territory

The media today constantly reminds us we live in a world of suffering. As we see events unfold from airplane crashings, to school sootings, racism and violent retribution the hearts in this world are truly breaking. Finding ourselves in the midst of it our hearts can break too and become overwhelmed. On top of our own issues and stresses its almost incomprehensible. Sometimes, it feels like Satan is winning. 

Athiests use these sufferings as reasons or "proof" as to why God doesn't exist. For those of us who know God, lets delight i the peace of knowing that He is sovereign over all. Does this mean that God wants all tis suffering if he is allowing it? Even for those of us who know our God is a God of Love, we are still human and it's easy for us to doubt. But that doubt doesn't come from The Lord. The evil one uses this pain to separate us from our Loving Father. He will do whatever it takes to bring doubt in our minds. Satan cares more about our spiritual status than our physical status in this world. As long as we delight in God and proclaim his sovereignty among all of the land, Satan will not win. He has no chance. Satan is only capable of the power which God allows him to have. 

How great is that? Satan can only achieve what God allows. 

No one on Earth can escape the sovereign control of God: "The king's heart is a stream of water in the hand of the LORD, he turns it wherever he will." (Proverbs 21:1)

God will use pain and suffering to benefit his children, even when it breaks his heart. He will not allow the sin and evil by satan, in man, to destroy His plan. 

"As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today." Genesis 50:20

God does tell us that His ways and His thoughts our higher than ours. That means, the most clever evil planned by one is a simple fix and edit to our God. He can easily twist that into a blessing.

Wherever you are today, be reminded of Gods POWER. The things you're stressing about, things you want, hope for, or are suffering from, He has such an amazing plan just waiting to unfold. THe trick is, we have to believe it. Gods full power and grace in our lives can't grow until we seek him.

Daily prayer

god i read about all these amazing followers of you and i wish i could be like that. instead i become afraid of what others will think. being at a liberal school with even all my friends being democratic liberals who critize the conservative side it further pushes me in my shell. i know you said we would be persecuted for your name but why cnat i be lukewarm? i shouldnt wonder this but i do. and then i figure ill do good works, which i love doing, and they get the approval of others but i wish they could see why i do it. i feel like i dont have any close christ-like people in my life and this makes it so hard. it makes me feel like an outcast. i need your spirit to guide me always through every moment. show me where youre taking me and help me chose into a life of prayer close to you. please help me take joy and prideof you and not grow fearful. i dont are how long im on this earth i just want to live it correctly. i want a never ending stream of bible verses running through my mind constantly. i dont want to be afraid of petty things happening in my life. i want to be able to live life with meaning in college an ive never found that to be so hard. im willing to let go of what you want me to and do what you want me to but i need to grow in you first. i need your presence and i need to get back to where i was. i dont know how i used to be so strong in my faith and so joyful and now i blend in with the crowd. help me get where i need to be even if i dont know where that is.

Hopeless and heartbroken

I've been idle on my blog. The reason? I fell in love and got my heart broken.

I fell in love with my best friend who i could see myself ending up with.

I want to be with him. And for no reason worth discussing, its obviously not meant to be right now. Maybe not ever. And I can't seem to get that through my mind, much less my heart. I've been going around all day in a gaze, unable to process fully conversations I'm having with people, because my mind is elsewhere. 

I've never fallen in love before so I've never been able to understand when people were so heartbroken they never wanted to love again. But i understand that now.

Is it really better to have loved and lost than not have loved at all? Because picturing myself independent and happy for a chunk of time sounds pretty good to me.

Please pray for me, pray that I see gods plan in this and give my trust to something greater.

Children

Seeing the love and joy in children can give anyone so much hope in life regardless of their personal circumstances.

We can learn the most from them. Their innocence can make us forget the pain and suffering of the world. They have more of gods love in them than we realize.

if christ is in me why am i living like i'm of this world? why am i casting my affections on things of this earth?

i'm on the edge of falling for someone who doesn't believe in my god.

it's not my religion its the root of my heart. 

the conflict in that really appeared in a conversation tonight and i'm realizing this is going to be hard.

i haven't fallen in love but i love him as a best friend and have deep care and feelings for him.

i think we both realize where we just aren't compatible.

he said it was someone like me he felt could help him find his faith. 

but you can't force someones heart to change.

when did i become one of those girls who wants to fix a guy.

why has god put someone who i've had perfect chemistry with and clicked with so well since the day i met him in front of me

why has this guy chased me for months to no end.

and why is it so hard to see all of this and have missing the most important aspect.

Love

If someone has everything you want in a husband or wife

but doesn't believe in your god

what do you make of them

If someone is your best friend

Do you hold off on progressing the relationship because tey don't carry the holy spirit

These things we learn in church are to put god first

And of course, he is

But they don't tell us what we're suppose to do

When we can see a future with a non-believer

Are we supposed to neglect that maybe just maybe they really can change

Maybe just maybe god will use you as the light in their life

Maybe just maybe you're not being fooled by your heart

Maybe god is trying to use you

We hear stories of success and heartbreak

We shouldn't be unequally yoked, I know. God tells me that.

But what does that really mean

But when you find what seems like your soul mate, and not just on a cliche-romance movie surface level

Not out of romance and ooey-gooey-i-love-you's but out of i trust you and can talk to you about anything

And god presents them in your life

It kinda makes you stuck, doesn't it?

Romantic Love

We watch romance movies and it doesn't ever seem to involve god.

I grew up expecting to find the perfect guy for me, who would be handsome and treat me right.

After failing and settling I came face to face with god when I realized I need him as joy in my life.

After becoming a Christian my "dream guy" who marks all my childhood qualities of attractive, funny, crazy about me, sweet, and especially my best friend. Now I find the thing that is missing is a belief in god. It breaks my heart that this guy who connects with me so well and seems like my match maid in heaven struggles to recognize god as god and turns his head away from faith.

I grew up believing in god so having a relationship with him didn't need convincing it was just a new idea that transformed me.

At this point, I don't know what to do. 

And I needed to just let this out. On pen and paper or keyboard and blog.
