“Sonadow fans are delusional”
Maybe some, but let's be honest: what ship fan wouldn't be excited about All THIS? No offense, but I'm sure a lot of fans of other veteran ships, even some still big today, would love to have something similar in some aspect.
Sonic is the most morally ambiguous character in the Sonic franchise
He runs by his own rules, no rules really apply to him anyway. He also keeps giving second chances to his foes so they could reform, even if it backfires more than once. He does not mind getting his hands dirty (killing). He doesn't mind being the bad guy if it means doing what he's gotta do. He is as chaotic and sharp as the powers he wields but he won't hesitate to help someone out. He's a good boy, he has a heart of gold, he cares, but he doesn't care about anyone's opinions on good or bad, just sticks to his own, the world's standards don't matter to him when he simply follows where his heart guides him. He helped Chaos with kindness but he locked Erazor up for an eternity.
But most of all, he is the only one not willing to give away what he loves.
If it means saving the world, even Rouge would give up her gems, Babylon Rogues would give up their ego, Silver would give up his own morals and innocence, Shadow would give up his life force, Knuckles would give up the Master Emerald, heck even Eggman would give up the fight and his ego, even his daughter !
But Sonic? He'd let the world go up in flames for what he loves. Let a city fall into slavery, set free an ancient evil that has destroyed entire worlds, anything. He is selfish in that. Not willing to sacrifice his friends.
But then again, he's also the one who keeps losing this one thing.. Shadow, Emeryl, Chip...
He's not risking anyone else ever again, he's selfish so what. He doesn't care about the world's defined morals anyway, he follows his heart. And his heart tells him he's not willing to lose these people, even if the world ends
Sonic is the hero, but while literally everyone else is willing to sacrifice what they hold most dear, he is not.
Sonic Frontiers is the perfect example of this!!
I'd also like to add that people closest to him have been the only ones to challenge his morality and make him question and think on them more, but back to frontiers.
We hit the first island, and you get to know the residence, the koco. Cool dudes, but Sonic isn't interested in spending time with them. He wants to find Amy, but guess what? If he brings them to the elder koco, he can exchange them for power, this means now he's going out of his way to collect them. It's a good deed, of course, but with an ulterior purpose, keep that in mind.
Later, when he finally finds Amy, he's still collecting the koco, but he hasn't really bothered to talk to them, yet she has. We see how he starts getting a little impatient, tapping his foot, crossing his arms, since he can't understand their conversation, and to be honest, his focus is elsewhere, but he let's her have it and when she asks him to help he obliges. Later, though, there's a limit to his patience, and he snaps, and they have this conversation:
"Are you saying you'd leave someone in need?"
This conversation gives us 2 things;
sonic doesn't really care what happens to the koco in that particular moment. He cares about AMY
He views the koco as child like
Why do these points matter? Because he doesn't care what happens to what he perceives as children, when Amy is in danger.
Granted, when she asks if he would deny someone in need, he says "No" and we can tell with the way he shakes his head that's not his style, but he really is worried about setting her free and finding tails and Knuckles over the koco.
Eventually, he does listen to her, though.
Funnily enough, this isn't the first time Amy butts heads with him on morality, and they argue before he gives in. Remember the robot she stopped him from killing?? Yeah.
Let's not mention when in sonic X he manipulates her into going crazy on the boat cuz he wants to get off of it as soon as possible, or when in generations he doesn't feel like hugging so he puts his whole hand on her face 💀
But that's enough on Amy, what about tails?
He argues they're technically helping delusional kocos by feeding into their delusions. Sonic comforts him about it and changes his mind, but what they're doing remains the same, feeding into the delusions the koco have about a timeline they no longer exist in. Sonics ok with that.
That said, sonic will either see your point and still try to convince you about his (like with tails) or be stubborn and eventually give in (like with Amy) but only if you are close enough to question him. Otherwise? He's doing his thing no matter what.
Surge called him out once, and though it rattled him, he didn't change. He is exasperated now. In idw, we see him think, "till next time, eggman and the time after that." He's clearly tired with the thought, but he didn't change his ways because his way to him is what matters.
I bet if it was someone like Amy or Tails it would have scared him more, he would have thought about it a little more, maybe even argued back, but it wasn't them who said it, it was Surge.
Sonic the hedgehog IS morally ambiguous, and he's ok with that, so long as he's his friends hero, that's all that matters.
This is good… I like this
Preserving @toaarcan's tags:
Ooh! This is an interesting take! I guess he really is like the wind: changing direction and force at a moment's notice. My Archie-leaning ass has long wondered if the fact that Sally and Fiona both accused Sonic of being selfish was meant to mean something, or if they were just both intended to be wrong, which is what the fandom generally assumed (both come from Karl Bollers's pen, and I feel like Fiona saying it while being pretty calm and pointed in Issue 153 was, like... separating between that dialogue line and the context of Sally's breakdown in Issue 134, as if Karl was going ''No, that wasn't just Sally lashing out, it's a serious accusation"). Because, like... Sonic actually is pretty Not Great at compromising, he does think his way is best and refuses to back down from it; this is a pretty consistent thing across almost every version of the character: he does not like giving ground once he's decided how he wants to do things. I guess it makes it poetic that the last drip of character development Archie's Sonic got before that became verboten was finding a middle ground with Sally after, like... 88 issues. Also: ouch, the "Sonic refuses to accept losing people, he's lost them anyway" thing... Yeah, that'd give a guy a complex. I still stand by the headcanon that the reason we do not see Sonic around Gemerl much is because Sonic handles his Emerl-related grief by "not thinking about it", and Gemerl is just enough like Emerl to make that impossible and too unlike Emerl for Sonic to really handle; Sonic can't help but see Gemerl as his dead friend that "came back wrong".
I wonder if Sonic not being willing or even able to compromise (which suddenly reminded me of some of the lyrics of "It Doesn't Matter" from Sonic Adventure 1; whoever was the member of Crush 40 that wrote their songs' lyrics, they really did see it before anyone else, didn't they?) was what led so many fans –at least in the West– to imagine Sonic as a lawful good character, despite him being otherwise characterised as chaotic good in the videogames, which was also pretty consistent.
The IDW comic –whose writers were actual Sonic the Hedgehog fans before being hired to make official content– would be the culmination of this line of thought: it's currently portraying Sonic as very firmly lawful good, thus turning this interpretation of the character in part of the official canon (which was then confirmed and strengthened by Ian Flynn being hired to write Sonic Frontiers), and this is what generated so much controversy and division in the fandom in the last few years. In those discussions, there were lots of detractors of the comic pointing out all the instances of Sonic being chaotic good in the videogames and all the times in the IDW comic where the games' version of Sonic would have acted very differently; however, I also remember seeing a few defenders of the IDW comic arguing that its portrayal of Sonic (arguing with Shadow on what to do with Mr Tinker, trying to deflect blame during the Metal Virus crisis, learning absolutely nothing from any of those fiascos once the day is saved) is actually very in line with how he behaves in several games including Sonic and the Black Knight and other so-called "Dark Age" titles (frequently cited by the IDW comic's detractors as the best portrayals of Sonic in opposition to the comic, but also cited by Evan Stanley –the other main writer of the IDW comic along with Flynn– as their main inspiration), and it's precisely because of this kind of stubbornness that was a part of Sonic's character across all branches of the franchise.
Average night at the Wachowski’s

This is my best recreation of it
i'd say i'm sorry but i'm not
it’s real .. Lee Majdoub said yaoi is cool
(He’s so cool & funny fr)
Brief context: I’ve always wanted to know what Lee Majdoub thought about stobotnik and my friends surprised me by getting him to record his response at Sonic Expo!
so the scourge questions for bumblekast are officially canned once 2025 rolls in. flynn’s just not doing any more sonic questions in general.
i’m so sorry…
Somebody needs to arrange a funeral, whether it's for me or the scourge asks willbeUNKNOWN😔‼️😔😔😔‼️
