What is your usual camera settings when shooting?
I prefer to shoot Manual and Raw. I enforce biggest aperture (i.e. f/2.8) and control the shutter speed. The things I tend to auto is ISO and White Balance. Center-weighted average metering serves me well. Settings do change too when I switch between external flash or not. I find playing around with the values interesting. Of course when needed and when situation changes I update my settings accordingly. Of course for people first starting out, you can refer to [cheatsheets](http://www.slrlounge.com/a-great-manual-mode-camera-cheat-sheet) to help you understand how the camera functions.
