More Legacy

So I play for a good while yesterday and a LOT happened to my little Legacy family.

My founder, Hadley, gave birth to her 2nd child, a Girl! And an Heir. Yay! Gen 2 born! Sadly though, little Genevieve aged up to child with no fanfare. Everyone forgot her birthday. Papa Milo aged up to elder and had a great run of life. He passed away in the middle of the night and although Hadley pleaded for his life, Death too him anyway.

At some point later, Hadley caught herself on fire mucking around with the dryer and it was a close call there for a minute. Luckily Nicholas stepped in and saved his mom. Of course, once he aged up to teen, his lack of cooking skills almost burned the kitchen down, but sister Genevieve came to the rescue with some quick action. (I really need to get the a smoke detector!!)

Hadley also aged up to an adult and the three of them celebrated Winterfest with a great exchange of presents.

Now that the kids are both teens they need to get out and start working to help their widowed mom. Genevieve might find her soulmate.

Finally playing Sims 4

I finally got Sims 4 and have been playing on hubby’s laptop. Yay!! I feel like I’m so behind everyone. Ha! But I’m having loads of fun.

I started my legacy but with a few minor differences. I already had a game started for a Rags to Riches story but decided to use it since her beginnings were pretty similar.

So she started with 0 simoleons and and an empty lot but it’s 20x30 instead of the 50x50 stated in the rules. And It was already too late when I realized I couldn’t use the “spouse’s” money when they move in.

It figures that I chose the matriarch rule and her first child is a boy.

After browsing past weeks in my Hobonichi Weeks, I realized something very important. I like looking back at the past and seeing what was going on. So I’m not sure a TN would work for planning. I use it for notes, brain dumps, collections and lists but everyday planning wouldn’t work. They are meant to hold a month at a time. Otherwise, what’s the point. I like having my planner all in one book for the year so I can look back and remember. I think it would annoy me to have it broken up into one or just a few months. If I were to carry around the whole year that seems to defeat the purpose of using a TN.

Highlighting

I’m using Zebra Mildliners in my bullet journal with both gel pens and felt tip pens and I’m trying to decide which is better...

Highlight the line, then write in it. OR write the text then highlight it?

Both methods seem to cause me trouble, depending on which pen I use. If I highlight first, then it seems to make the ink bleed out a little (like fuzz out instead of crisp lines). If I write first, the highlight tends to smear the ink.

So I can’t seem to win either way. Why do I see all these pretty highlighted bullet journals? Why can’t I get mine to look the same?

Papermate Ink Joy Gel

I’m not really liking the Paper-Mate Ink Joy Gel Pens. I love the colors, but it smears because it doesn’t dry as quick as I’d like. Bleh! Maybe that would be different with the fine point. I’m using 0.7. I prefer that in my other pens, but maybe for these the 0.5 would have been better.

Indecisive

It’s Thursday. Thank goodness! I am ready to change up my layout yet again for the week. I like the weekly I have, but my dailies are crap. I don’t like the “free-for-all” format. It allows me to be too messy. So I’m going back to a simplified weekly for tasks and quick notes. And I’ll use dailies for brain dumps and journaling.
