I'm still frowning most of the time, I'm still pretty angry about the world around me, but most importantly, I'm still alive.

So tumblr's gonna die

I made my tumblr close to 8 years ago.

Almost a decade. And while my posting slowly declined over time, and became increasingly... n s f w, I really did take this place as a home for a very long time. I made friends and established relationships here, vented while yelling at my screen and sobbing, and felt included in a weirdo community.

I even had an alt adult blog with a significant other, making our own content for the world. Tumblr was the platform that allowed us to do that in a safe and positive manner. How absurd now that it's erasing not only that past, but everything else that it deems impure.

I understand that the bots and spam and illegal content involving minors is a constant stain on the website, but I find it very farfetched that systems could not have been put in place years ago to eliminate that sort of undesirable content. Mismanagement and a shuffling/refusal to accept blame seem to be the culprit.

Regardless, to everyone that I met and spoke to through tumblr, whether we continued to speak elsewhere or faded out of contact, I'll miss you and I appreciate any time we had.
