"So many years, since first we met in that forest so very far away," the fae murmurs, their rosy lips curling into a smile. It is gentle, coy and innocent. It is a trap, Ava knows, and yet as ever she is drawn closer, a moth to the flame, desiring only more.

Always she longs for more — more, more, more — and always she denies herself.

"I wonder," they continue, soft fingers gliding along the curve of Ava's cheek, "how many more shall pass, before my question is answered?"

She goes still, a heart she has no more need of hammering in her chest. "You have no need of my name."

The smile shifts, quiet as a summer breeze, and it is sharper now, a painted blade.

"Oh, but I assure you, I have every need of it."

i waffled on whether or not i would post this, seeing as i just announced that i would be going on hiatus. but, it's so beautiful and i'm so thrilled with it i figured, why not! besides, it might be good as a send off post!

anyway, i was lucky enough to commission the ever wonderful @s-ewell to draw a little scene from a cordelia/ava au fic i'm working on! she absolutely knocked it out of the park and i am so utterly beside myself with how gorgeous it is! just, every single thing about it is exactly what i wanted and more!
