Gonna pull a big-brained move and spill my personal ideas about Yamagata and his family! I put so much thought into these, therefore I am right and everyone else is wrong. (Iām kidding!)
- Yamagataās oldest younger brother and sister are four and five years younger than him respectively, and though they would technically be old enough to help around the house, Yamagata gives off the vibe of deliberately not making them do so unless they ask to, since heād rather they focus on school work and fun and be different than he is (just because their mom wasnāt good to him, doesnāt mean he wants them to grow up angry and neglected)ā¦
- I get the feeling that his family is crazy enough to all have given names starting with āYā? And be based solely on details of how they were born? Their mother isnāt a creative woman whatsoever.
- Yamagata: His name, tied to the idea of a mountain, reflects his stubbornness and the difficulty of his birth. He was ātroublesome to push out,ā and that trouble has followed him into teen-hood.
- Yuuya (12): Born just as the afternoon sun came in, Yuuyaās name reflects a moment of calm and warmth. Yuuya might be the more easygoing, carefree sibling, the one whoās always got a smile on his face and doesnāt let things get to him. Yamagata probably sees a lot of potential in Yuuya and works hard to make sure he doesnāt have to deal with the same struggles he did.
- Yonaka (11): Born at midnight and silent, Yonakaās name has a mysterious, almost eerie quality to it. She might be the quiet, introspective sibling, the one who watches everything but says little. Yamagata probably keeps a close eye on her, making sure sheās okay even though she doesnāt always express her feelings. He respects her quiet nature but is always ready to step in if she needs him.
- Yorihito (10): One in a set of twins, mother had a miscarriage of the other as a result of VTS? Itās no secret that he is their motherās least favorite child, but heās well-loved by his siblings to make up for it.
- Yuaki/Yarimi (8): Successful set of twin girls born in the fall, aptly named after the fact that their mother could only bring herself to eat apples and pears during her pregnancy with them.
- Yohane (5): Another son not well-liked by their mother, who was named after the fact that he had particularly wailing cry at birth. The stress of gestation made her finally cave and indulge in alcohol during this pregnancy, resulting in FAS for the baby.
- Yamagata also has a grandmother who brought him up when his mom was absent and taught him solid lessons about being independent while still valuing social connections. He respects and loves her a lot, so he listens to every word she says regardless of whether he agrees with her or not. Gran didnāt raise no fool!
- By now, Yamagataās taken it upon himself to care for a lot of his younger siblings, but he also bites the bullet and frequently asks Kai for help with that, too! Theyāre already more than close enough to be privy to each otherās home-lives, so I think this is something Kai readily assists with without the constraint of paying him back, though Yamagata still gets plenty embarrassed about it ā especially when Yuuya, Yonaka, and the others start knowing Kai by name.
