Picture this: the Archeron fortune wasn't lost as early as in canon and their mother didn't die. Nesta is married off to one of the Mortal Queen's brothers on the Continent. Events of ACOTAR happen sans Nesta's presence......Nesta comes back to save the day because she's a baddie.

You came into power because the folly of a fool High Lord put this entire territory, the lives of millions, into the hands of a child.” The hardest part about hearing these words was that Nesta agreed. Making Feyre High Lady was possibly the most egregious of a long list of shitty governing choices Rhysand had made when he was still alive. Rhysand was the whole reason they were in this mess, and compared to centuries old fae, Feyre was a child. Hell, until recently she was illiterate, to Nesta’s shame. Hardly ruler material.   But Feyre was still her sister. And Nesta had already let her down; in their human childhoods, in the war…after. She felt the flames stir, sensing the coming end of talks. The beginning of the inevitable.

Chapter 19: Magic

They both reached for the ruined letter at the same time, and their hands touched.

Elain froze, and she thought Lucien did, too.

Scorching heat coursed through her. Almost enough to hurt, but certainly enough to make her senses narrow to pinprick focus. To make her feel like time was speeding up and slowing down at once. She could feel how the earth would shake violently when Prythian fell into the ocean at the end of time. Tingling, as the hair on her head raced to get out of her body, growing longer so it could reach him, since the rest of her was reluctant to do so. She felt like the sun had reversed its motion, and wondered what would be different if Lucien could forget she’d ever rejected him as a mate in those horrible days after she was thrown into the Cauldron, and he instead would realize here, at this moment—she could see him falling on his knees before her, in this pretty palace with its cold floors, and its suffocating insulation from the outside world, and from there on his knees, he would confess, “You’re my mate.”

Long seconds ticked by, marked by the room’s grandfather clock. The black ink spread slowly across the ruined draft, but Elain didn’t see it or take note of its passage. Her mind was in the stars and the sea and the dirt. Farther. Somewhere beyond the horizon…

Lucien let out a careful, shuddering breath.

And then the moment passed."

I was so intimidated to write her POV, but enjoyed it more than I thought I would.

It is a Nessian fanfic primarily, but the Elucien subplot has stollen my heart ❤️

Cassian hadn’t tugged on the bond to warn her he was coming. Nesta wanted to look away, to glare at the others and try to guess who had invited him here, but she couldn’t take her eyes off the slight limp to his step. The way his wings drooped slightly more than usual. And while her attention was being unilaterally funneled onto Cassian, she also took note of the effort he’d made to dress properly. His face was freshly shaved, and his hair pulled neatly back, half up in the knot he liked to wear when they weren’t at court. Relief, guilt, and more than a little appreciation flooded her. And then he noticed her staring and ruined it with a smug fucking grin.
