“yeah, okay. my left titty has more personality than you have in your entire body, so. not sure your definition of ‘better’ is apt. unless you mean you’re better at putting people to sleep. then, yeah. i agree.” granted, her hookup with regina wasn’t terrible and she didn’t feel ashamed, however, she was getting the impression the other felt that way about her. 

“oh i’m boring, hm? you weren't saying that the other night.” regina hissed, looming over the other woman, grateful she had several inches on her, “if i remember correctly, you quite liked my left ‘titty.’ so, if i were you, i would stand down. testing me isn't wise, bettina.” regina was good at empty threats- it probably ranked among her top five skills.

Her spine straightened just a little. “Are you insinuating that one– you have better judgement– or two–” Vida flicked her gaze towards her, “you are ‘more interesting people’?” 

Regina cocked her head to the side, a smirk playing at her lips, “Hmm, maybe both?” She let out a soft laugh, “I’m the most interesting person you know and I’m incredibly intelligent.” There was a hint of sarcasm in her voice, but underneath that she really wasn’t kidding.

“ridiculously hot? i agree.” there was some truth to regina’s word, but she would’ve rather not give any merit to the descriptors the other woman had been utilizing. she was no fun anyway. “i act like a child but you still fucked me, so. you don’t get to play the ‘i’m better than you’ card, miss regina phalange.” 

“so? i’m better than most of the people i sleep with.” all, if you asked her truthfully. and bettina was no exception- far from it in regina’s mind. she tipped her chin up slightly, lips pursed, “regina phalange? very original. friends is a bad show. unoriginal and so very white. so, i guess it makes sense that you would like it.”

ivy took another long, forceful sip of her iced coffee before turning her head to greet the student standing next to her table. “’ello, love,” she spoke warmly before gesturing to the drink in her hand, “this is my third cup of the afternoon and according to my predictions, the cracklike caffiene high’s going to take full effect in around five minutes. if you’re coming to ask for a favor, you picked the perfect time.” 

ignoring most of what the other said, regina focused on the end of the other’s words, “less of a favor and more of... more of- well, kind of a favor.” she gestured to the space across from ivy at the table, “can i sit? there are no free spaces and i’d prefer to study here than my room. i focus better.” not that regina was easily distracted- obviously not- but she needed a change of scenery.

“do i ever what before i what?” bettina mocked, entertained by the femme’s reaction as made obvious by her boisterous laughter. her primary intention had been to bug regina, only the other made it far too easy sometimes. “you know i’m right.” 

“you’re not right, you are just ridiculous.” regina scoffed, “i don’t know how you somehow pass as a functioning adult. you act like a child.” she rolled her eyes, “you’re lucky you’re a legacy.”

“It really says something about the state of my year so far that I’m actually dying for a day out in Roseville. I need some excitement and, sorry, you all are just not delivering.” 

“I guess you just haven't been hanging out with the right people.” Regina shrugged- almost gracefully- a smug smile on her face, “You just need to find interesting people, Vida.”

regina was a big fan of avoidance. if something was uncomfortable? see ya. if she didn’t want to address a certain feeling or a certain feeling? bye. so, when she rounded a corner on her way back her dorm and came face-to-face with her ex, all she really wanted to do was turn around and pretend she hadn’t seen her. but that seemed a little ridiculous now. so she stood up straight, making sure to showcase her full five feet and nine and a half inches- trying to seem unbothered and tough, apparently- and murmured, “jess, hello.” a pause, “i was going to say funny seeing you here,” she was going to say absolutely nothing, “but you obviously still go here. so that would be rather superfluous... the school year treating you well?”

“His name is Stevie, after Stevie Nicks, y’know… from the band Fleetwood Mac, even though she was a woman… my parents were big fans back in the day, and I used to take him literally everywhere. I was a very cool kid, what can I say?” ||  @gallagherstart 

Regina smiled fondly at the other, shaking her head, “I don’t know about cool, but cute for sure.” She glanced down at the stuffed animal, “He looks like a Stevie. He’s very appropriately named.” Even Regina could respect something being named after Fleetwood Mac, “I’m surprised you brought him here, to school.”

“tarzan was hornier than a drunk nun and wasn’t even potty-trained, but jane said you know what… those abs don’t grow on trees. this is MY hot girl summer.” 

regina’s head snapped toward bettina, a glare shot straight toward the other, “do you ever think before you speak.” she hissed, shaking her head at bettina’s lewd and entirely unnecessary comment.

“as one of the maids of honour, ‘gina, it will be your job to convince or seduce them into making one amazing giant one instead, especially for me,” she grinned, “no mission you will ever be given with ever be as important or difficult as this one… as i imagine the cake moulds and stuff might be difficult to acquire… imagine the amount of crushed biscuits they are going to need, god.” 

regina laughed, head tipping back, “i do have great powers of persuasion. i think i may be able to work that out for you.” she gave bee an over-exaggerated wink, “i cannot think of a mission more worthwhile.” there were very few people regina got like this with. bee- and her friendship with her- brought out a more fun, genuine side, “i’ll make sure it’s done if it’s the last thing i do. i think it will require all of my gallagher training.”

     Kass flashed a smile at a nearby girl, a fourth year she was vaguely aware of but didn’t know too well.  Then she downright CACKLED at the first thing that came out of her mouth.   “ God, I didn’t even think about that, “ she grinned, putting down the empty flute on a nearby table. “ If it’s any consolation, I don’t think beating someone would be very gala-y.  At least it would be a first for any gala I’VE been too.  Not that I’ve been to many. “ 

Regina nodded in agreement, “Oh, of course not, it would be so crass. And unprofessional. But I wouldn’t put it past some of the people here, though... especially the boys.” She shrugged, a slight smirk on her face. She chuckled, “It would be a first for me too- and I’ve been to too many galas. I have seen shrimp thrown at someone though. That was quite entertaining.”

     he’s always came from a middle class family  :   never well off  ,   but comfortable enough to go out for fancy dinners on birthdays and special occasions  .   so he’s  certainly  not used to galas such as these  ;   that being said  ,   he’s having a good time  ,   despite the school assignment  that was attached to it  .   gallagher academy was  TRULY  something else  .     “  i just feel like there’s a few other options than that  .   you could always hit first  ,   then run  .  ”    and there’s better options  ,   but he doesn’t know her  ,   doesn’t want to put literal bad ideas  into her head  .  

regina nodded once, head cocked just slightly to the side, “oh, there are most definitely better options. i just feel like some people do not have the finesse needed to trick a secret out of someone.” most people, in her actual opinion, “if someone came at me, my immediate response would be trying to escape rather than engage in a fight publicly, so, your suggestion is a good option.” she paused, joking, “please tell me you’re not over here to beat my secret out of me.”

“who cares?” bettina certainly didn’t. for once, she would have liked to let loose and have some form of entertainment that didn’t include trading secrets for a grade while wearing a floor-length dress that gave her difficulty to walk in. “if i fail the mission, then i fail the mission. not all of us have a praise kink to tend to every second of the day.” 

“you should care.” regina told her matter-of-factly, folding her arms over her chest. she didn’t understand people like bettina. and she didn't even want to try to. as the shorter woman continued, she scoffed to cover up the offended gasp she emitted, “i do not have a praise kink!” ( she did ), “and even if i did, i would be completing the assignment to become a better spy- not for the praise that comes with completing the mission.”

The sensation of her hand over his brought lightness to his stomach, his body relaxing into her side. There was just something about Regina that had acted as a beacon to Rocco, he couldn’t quite put his finger on it but from the day he first stepped into the Gallagher academy he was drawn to her. What his body and soul wanted, he wasn’t going to deny. So here he was, in the middle of a mission his thoughts on anything but that. “Professionalism is reserved for after graduation.” He muttered to her, allowing his hand to drop from her hip as he moved away slightly to stand beside her rather than against her. “But if you were my mark, I’d be able to complete my mission with ease.” 

“Even when it comes to me?” Regina asked, tipping her chin up slightly. Their dynamic was... interesting. And Regina enjoyed it and almost frowned as he moved away bit. An amused smile slipped onto her lips, “Are you so sure about that?” She liked to think that having her as a mark would be an incredibly difficult task. Mostly because she trusted no one. She chuckled quietly, “How would you complete the mission? Just as a hypothetical.” She thought that maybe examining his methods would bring her closer to his secret.

“funny you say that since..” she sighed deeply. “i didn’t think about it. it’s a good thing to hope for though.” elisa finished. after last year’s wardrobe fiasco with her tube top (that she maintains she didn’t have the boobs for), she swore up and down to stick with frocks that had sleeves attached. elisa discreetly brushed some stray crumbs from her sleeve hem. “even if they did, it would be a little unprofessional to bust it out in public.” 

“i would much rather someone try and outsmart me,” very unlikely in regina’s own distinguished opinion of herself, “than try and fight me.” though, surely she could hold her own in that situation if needed- also in her own opinion. she nodded, “very unprofessional. but i wouldn’t put it past them. especially some of these boys.” she replied, eyes surveying the crowd for the millionth time before landing back on elisa, “people should, hopefully, mind their manners tonight.”
