I was lucky enough to work with the band ‘boatfriends’ to create album artwork for their debut EP. I used a mixture of digitally manipulated drawing, hand-painted shapes and physical layering to create depth + shadows which was then photographed for the final product.
I was pretty chuffed with the final result + it’s exciting to see my artwork in such a different format.
You can find their music over at http://boatfriends1.bandcamp.com/ x
When the weather is as cold as it is right now, who doesn’t want to curl up with a cup of tea?
Wear your pride on your chest with a little symbol of your favourite hot-brew!
These little brooches are laser cut plywood created using a hand drawn design. Each brooch is hand-painted and pieced together so comes with their own individual quirks.
This kettle comes as raw wood but if you would like it customised I am happy to give it a splash of colour for you.
Go on, jump in.. the water’s warm. Find them over at my etsy shop // https://www.etsy.com/shop/madebyrchl

drawing, for me, started to really make sense when a teacher introduced me to contour drawing and it feels good to start from square one.

Sometimes we just need those little reminders to get back to basics.
I’ve been really inspired by Keri Smiths’ book ‘How to be an explorer of the world’ + drew this up as a little homage to her creative sparks.

you can now purchase some of my framed works through a great independent gallery that has just opened it’s doors in Newcastle!
I’m really excited by the space and would love to get some new works together to a hold a show sometime in the not-too-distant future.
Watch this space!
I've never been terribly good at drawing facial features..
