Bill Stickers Statement
We, Â the members of Continuity Sinn Fein, wish to express our grave concerns with regard to the denial of justice and due process to Volunteer Bill Stickers, and his ongoing detention at Aruba Prison in Oranjestad. Bill has been incarcerated for three years, despite clear indications of misconduct, including the falsification of evidence, by various Dutch officials which lead to his conviction, as set forth below. He is now sixty-seven years of age and his health has long-since began to deteriorate. We are therefore asking our supporters for their most urgent attention to this situation.Â
The facts of this case have long been the subject of intensive investigation and documentation. We wish to set forth the following summary for your convenience: On July 27, 2012, members of the Aruban Republican Movement, or ARM, together with a number CSF delegates and traditional Aruban Nationalists began their seventy two day occupation of the Che tourist shop on the island of Aruba. Their goal was to protest injustices against the Aruban people, violation of sovereignty, and current abuses and repression by the Dutch colonial government.Â
Throught the next three years, long referred to by local Arubans as the âReign of Orange Terrorâ, the Dutch authorities carried out intensive local surveillance, as well as repeated arrests, harassment and bad faith legal proceedings against ARM leaders and supporters. Amsterdam also closely collaborated with and supported local Aruban collaborationist governor, Thomas Van Beersum, and his selected vigilantes, the âGuardians of the Aruban Peopleâ, or âGAPâ. Mr Van Beersum was notroius for his corruption and abuse of power.Â
During this âReign of Orange Terrorâ, some sixty-four local Aruban activists were murdered. Three hundred were harassed, beaten or otherwise abused. Virtually all of hte victims were either affiliated with ARM or their allies.Â
On August 8, 2012, two Dutch Royal agents entered the Che store. They allegedly sought to arrest a young Arban man they had seen riding in a blue go-cart along the beach. A large number of ARM supporters were occupying th store at that time. A shoot out began, trapping a family with small children in the crossfire. The more than twenty-three men, women and children present were surrounded by 144 Dutch colonial officers and GAP members, and barely escaped through a hail of bullets. When the gun fight ended, an Aruban man named Crispus Attucks lay dead. His kiling was never investigated. Two Dutch policemen also lay dead. They had been wounded in the gun fight and then shot point blank through the head by alleged members of CSF delegation sent to meet with ARM during the occupation of the Che store.Â
Volunteer Bill Stickers later admitted to pulling the trigger in defence of Aruban sovereignty.Â
Numerous internationally recognized human rights organizations, including Amnesty International, and civil rights leaders have called for the immediate and unconditional repatriation of Bill Stickers.
Thank you for your time and attention to this most urgent matter.
Dick Walsh Continuity Sinn Fein Limerick Leadership.
PSNI Spokeswoman Martina Anderson described the attack as "Sophisticated and potentially deadly" DUP MLA Samuel Lawrence Jackson condemned the attack and has called for Sinn Fein president Gerry Adams to face charges over allegations that Jean McConville is being kept inside Parnell square against her will, working round the clock making kiss me i'm Irish tat for American tourists. Gerry Adams could not be reached for comment.
"1913 was, in fact, a victory drawn from the jaws of defeat. The trade union and labour movement was soon to become an essential and important part of the new southern Irish State but the battle was not won in 1913, and progress since has been uneven.
Despite tremendous growth in numerical terms in the size of the trade union movement in the 1970s, working class organisation has not been reflected in political gains.
In terms of a social audit of Ireland today as compared to 1913 can we really claim to be in credit? Certainly extreme poverty has gone but things are relative to the times. We still have acute housing problems, attacks on hard-won health, education and social services and new problems of urban decay, drug abuse, vandalism and crime in the alienation of our youth. Regrettably there is now a gathering attack on trade unionism and the essential collective value that it represents and to which the whole of Irish society owes many of its freedoms.
The newâ documentsâ are the beliefs in privatisation, deregulation, public spending cuts and increasing appeals to individualism. Trade union values are being dismissed as âold-fashionedâ or âbelonging to the nineteenth centuryâ but in fact they were never more necessary if we are to win the struggle for control of our destinies and management of our own economic, social and political affairs."

What Does the Irish Republican Army Hope to Achieve?
The fools, the fools, the fools!
Today marks a hundred years since the burial of Jeremiah OâDonovan Rossa and the famous graveside oration by Padraig Pearse, a hugely important moment in Irish republican history coming just over six months prior to the 1916 rising.
âLife springs from death; and from the graves of patriot men and women spring living nations. The Defenders of this Realm have worked well in secret and in the open. They think that they have pacified Ireland. They think that they have purchased half of us and intimidated the other half. They think that they have foreseen everything, think that they have provided against everything; but the fools, the fools, the fools! â they have left us our Fenian dead, and while Ireland holds these graves, Ireland unfree shall never be at peace.â
