“Well, you would get to play me, I guess. Also, would you be able to help me catch them? I always gotta get help to catch them... But if they’re not a mutant, are they really that interestin’?”

“Why would I do that? You just want to have a little fun, nothing wrong with that. So you basically put people into a game? Impressive. That’s why regular humans are boring. It probably just seems like some WWE fight. Mutants will always be better, but not as easy to catch.” He shrugged, chuckling at her reaction. “I can’t really think of anyone else of the top of my head since most mutants I know would probably give you an ass kickin’.”

“See, you get it. Some folks don’t get it. A lot of mutants talk about it bein’ cruel or somethin’.” She puts air-quotes around the word cruel, “Yeah, I got thirty-two right now. Some of the humans have some fightin’ skill, but hand to hand without any powers ain’t that fun.” A sight passes through her lips, “I wish I was as good at takin’ things out of the game as I am puttin’ them in... Okay, you know any younger mutant with cool powers who don’t know how to use them that good?”

“Your custom game? Do I even want to know? I’m sure there’s a mutant out there that can produce electricity. I mean, you could always go for Storm.”

“That depends if you’re gonna rat me out to the authorities... I mean they won’t believe you. But I basically just cleared the character selection screen, added people into it, and programmed some of their moves to buttons. Half of them are regular humans though, so sometimes the fights are awfully primitive.” Her eyes widened slightly at the suggestion, “No way, I am not up for a booty kickin’ today sir, not one bit.”

“After three years, my custom Mortal Kombat game is almost filled up. I only have one more spot to fill, so I’m waitin’ for a really cool mutant. Maybe someone who’s electricity typin’. You know anyone like that?”

remy had only been perusing through town, trying to find the best prices for a we happy few preorder, when she spotted the other and the man. she watched, and watched, and watched until monaco finally made eye contact. ‘ oh moni... not in public. you’re gonna get us all in trouble now. ’ she pulled her psp out of her jacket pocket, ‘ here, i can pull up the perfect world you can continue in, alright?. ’

“honestly, that sounds like a good thing. we should take some notes from y’all... but then again, i like what we got too. i mean, the parade is kinda a tradition for me, so i’d hate to have that stopped... i’m gonna say both is good.” a smile and a nod, “snapchat is basically one of the best parts about any big event this year. plus, you can watch it from the app if you can’t go. i thought i was going to have to do that this year, before i realized they were havin’ a parade here.”

“I’m not writin’ like ‘I love Ramona Rivas’ or nothin’,” There was a pause, as if the girl was considering it for a second. Ultimately, it ended in a shake of her head, “No, no that’s ridiculous, no way I would do that, no. I’m just goin’ with the standard, Mr. Barnes, don’t you worry.”

remy frowned, looking it over once more. yeah, it was big. a big failure. she hit her psp against her leg again twice. “well it should be real and fully functional... if i could get it right... but unfortunately i only got about twelve years– and the first couple didn’t even count because the pixels were so big. i can make Creepers pretty good though.” it sucked that she had to evolve every single time the quality of the games did. “but hey, hanzo is my defensive choice! well, i mean, i go back and forth between him and junkrat.”

"i can go all sorts of places though, i guess that’s the good part. what i got trouble with is bringing places here. yellowstone is cool though. mistake turned vacation, i hear?” again, she lifts the drooping, glitching blade. “i’m the number two genji in game, i’m just trying to get to be the number one out of game. i don’t want to be betty spaghetti. i hate the name betty.”

     remy had been crouching down, inspecting his suit thoroughly from all angles for a couple minutes now. he eyebrows knit together, “i’m lookin’ at these dimensions. hold up a sec. some wicked engineer you are, ain’t you mr. stark?” finally, she stands, “not the best discretion-er though.”

she’s holding a sword. a really giant sword. only, instead of pointing straight, it’s drooping, bending like a sword most definitely is not supposed to. “oh, genji would be pissed about this.” one hand hit her psp against her thigh, thrice. “i wish you could do the cool stuff with powers without like seventeen years of practice.”
