PLEASE LOOK AT THIS SMOL READING WITH HIS BIG BROTHER.
… I’ve had this idea in mind for a while :’3
have a copy guts
Spares everybody’s audio receptors and DECKS BLAZE IN THE FACE TO STOP HIM FROM SINGING.
LET'S FIGHT, NERD
“You wanna fight?! I’ll gladly fight!!”
Viol armours up and prepares his fists. …Anon, your better choice would be to run.
*boops his face*
DECKS AN ANON.
“A while ago.”
Or maybe just two minutes ago. He wasn’t saying.
“I’m amazed you noticed, though with how dead this place can be, it’s not that much of a surprise.”
“You’re the only one who’s any fun. The hand-built guys are all whiny as hell and who even knows where the other copies are.”
And by ‘any fun’ it was essentially meant ‘stirs up trouble’. Then again, if Flash Man hadn’t beaten Viol to the punch, he would’ve gladly shut Blaze up on Christmas.
Looks like Blaze was back, finally. Maybe he had returned earlier and no one noticed…
“When’d you come back?”

[ idiot. ]
It was never fun waking up after almost dying. IC chip recalibration (which was enough of a chore when things were being improved, nevermind recovering entirely), some sore spots, dizziness... Viol let out a low growl as he booted up, his face twisted up in phantom burn pain. Then, slowly, he opened his eyes, vividly unnatural (even for a robot) blue eyes lighting up like fire.
He never liked the process of system-checking because of his glitch before- the one where he couldn’t even process half of what information his internal memory was asked to take in, much less access what he had. Everything had about a 25% chance of getting through, and at that kind of capacity it tended to take him forever to wake up. Now that his glitch had been sorted out it went by faster, but it was still unpleasant in a way that fueled Viol’s irritation even before he got to the part where he remembered what happened.
Fire... must’ve been a solid building to have done this much damage when the flames caused it to crumble, and the blaze itself must’ve been extraordinarily hot to half-melt him like it had... blaze... Blaze!
Where the hell was Blaze? Now the events were processing, and that just made it all the worse. Blaze- Blaze had been caught in the middle of a debate between Viol and Grime. Ever since they’d been in recovery, Grime had made the case that they needed to keep acting as they always had, and that nobody would support them trying to move forward. Viol, on the other hand, was of the opinion that there was no going back, and trying to regress that way was cowardice.
Blaze... had been in the middle. Both sides had been trying to sway him, and for a moment, Grime had won...
...Viol’s growing rage ignored the quiet sounds coming from the fiery copy at his bedside.
○ Last Call for Alcohol
Blaze was rather angry at the moment, but he was unable to convey it properly due to his sheer drunkenness. He might’ve tried to at least push Viol were he more sober, but right now all he wanted was the drink. He didn’t think to protect the rest of his stash.
Blaze’s optics widened as he saw the rest of his drink downed, and suddenly his expression carried a slight look of anger. "Y’son ah…"
Blaze was going to try and hit him, but he was far too slow to do much more than step back. Viol had already reached over and hoisted him over his shoulder by the time he figured how he was going to try and get his sibling to back off. Slurred curses spewed from his mouth as he squirmed in his brother’s grasp, holding back somewhat only because it was Viol. Had it been anyone else, he would’ve armored up and tried to burn them.
"Pusht… L-Let… Grahgh…" Blaze couldn’t articulate what he was trying to say, and the result was more drunken, meaningless mumbling and he tried to escape. "Ah-Ah’m… Fahn…!" He knew he wasn’t. "J-Jus’ another…"
Blaze’s squirming lessened as he felt himself becoming sick. Viol wasn’t the best at carrying him around, and as such he often became nauseous. “V-Viol… Sick..”
Viol had about three seconds.
Viol didn’t pay attention to the rest of the booze for now. He started walking away with his brother; it was like carrying a cat that was somehow both feisty and lazy at the same time. Blaze wasn’t putting up much of a fight, which made it all the easier for the big idiot to lug him around. It was kinda funny how on top of that, Blaze’s current ability to speak was even less intelligible than Viol’s was. (Though, in all fairness, Viol could speak well- his thoughts just weren’t intelligent enough to justify it.)
“Yeah, whatever,” Viol said. “Save it for when you’re sober, alright? Like hell you’re ‘fine’. I’m not that dumb.”
There was a kind of... awkwardness, though, since the ‘argument’. Well, it was less of an argument and more of Blaze physically assaulting him while ranting at him. Apparently Viol had picked the wrong time to tell Copy Time and Copy Oil about manliness, but for once Viol hadn’t even fought back. And he knew why, too. It wasn’t because Blaze was his brother- nah, he could take him in a fight just fine, without regret. Blaze was a man! He could take it. But what threw him off were the tears that had been streaming down Blaze’s face.
That... had been weird.
No one had mentioned it since, either. Blaze certainly hadn’t. Viol had almost wondered if he was just seeing things, because forget men and manliness-- Blaze didn’t cry. Everybody knew Blaze only had two settings- indifference and anger. Maybe he’d thank someone for something, or try to be a nice guy, but even the slowest processor could recognize that Blaze wasn’t exactly genuine. Hell, he’d even said while ranting that he couldn’t feel anything but anger.
Again- if Viol were a smarter robot, and had the capability to process anything, he’d have been able to think something more about the situation. But right now, his mind was basically blank, until two coherent words finally formed a comprehensible thought from Blaze:
“V-Viol… Sick..”
Oh, crud. Viol at least knew what that meant; getting thrown up on a few times in the past had taught him the hard way. Those three seconds were spent breaking open the bathroom door- which thankfully was pretty close by, but he’d have to fix that later- and dumping Blaze in front of the toilet. Whether or not Blaze would be coherent/steady enough to actually lift himself up to vomit in the toilet was something else entirely, but Viol was not about to have his brother blow chunks on him instead.
Sheesh- Blaze wasn’t a lightweight, either.

Blaze hadn’t heard the massive oaf come in, otherwise he would’ve made the effort to get up and move somewhere else, or at least hide undearneath the couch. After his last little ‘chat’ with Viol, he wanted nothing to do with him. If Viol wanted to blather on and on about how emotions were stupid and no one needed them, Blaze would rather leave. Unfortunately, he was too drunk to fully register that the sounds being made meant Viol was home, and that he was walking far too close to the living room for comfort.
Blaze had somehow managed to scrounge up the money to buy yet another pack of beer. He had gambled for it, and while it paid off this time, he wasn’t sure how he’d fair the next time he needed cash. This addiction of his was something he wanted to shake off, especially since it wasn’t getting him what he wanted. Being drunk seemed to only make him angry, and he’d rather feel anything else. Even sadness seemed appealing right now, just something that told him he wasn’t a monster. The only good this drink seemed to do was destroy him from the inside, not unlike his current mental state.
Blaze was chugging down his beer as quickly as he could, not caring at all for the taste. He’d already downed four cases, leaving him drunk enough not to be able to fully process everything that was happening, but nowhere near where he wanted to be. Sheesh, how drunk did he have to get in order for his emotions to work already?
Blaze had opened the fifth case, having two others after that to down once he was done. It wasn’t nearly as much as he had wanted, but it would have to do for tonight, wouldn’t it?
… Or not.
All of a sudden, the bottle seemed to be gone from his hand. Enraged, he looked over to see who had done it, only to see stupid in the form of scrap metal standing over him, looking like someone shoved a support beam up his-
"W-What?" Blaze asked, barely processing the words his brother had spoken. "I-I juuuust stharted… Y-y’can’t…" He got up and proceeded to make a grab for his bottle, and becoming angry when he couldn’t get it. "Y’can’t j-jusht take ‘t… I’ll be fine, promishe!" Hopefully, Viol would know better than to listen to that little lie.
Stupid Viol certainly was- undoubtably so. However, he was also stubborn, and in this case, he was also right. Blaze promised that he'd be fine and it didn't take a genius to know he was a filthy stinking liar. Arson incidents and many repair jobs proved otherwise; and it was about time somebody told him 'no'! Viol only narrowed his eyes at his younger brother.
... Blaze looked kind of pathetic right now. Last they'd talked, Blaze had been able to knock Viol off his feet and cause some minor damage that he hadn't yet repaired. Right now, the copied incinerator was uselessly reaching for the bottle like a dying, starved child- except infinitely less sympathy-inducing. It was probably because last time Blaze was tipsy at most, and right now he was completely smashed. Of course, 'completely smashed' for Blaze was usually an understatement.
Viol looked over at the empty cases of beer and grunted. How did anyone even burn through all that alcohol like Blaze did? Viol was more the type to take shots, but that wasn't the point. The point was that Blaze really meant to do this to himself. Were Viol a smarter 'bot, he might've already questioned why.
"Yeah, right. Y'ain't having any more tonight; and I'll make sure of that," he said. To make his point, he raised the bottle and tipped it to drink the rest of what was in there; bleh, Blaze didn't even get the good stuff! This was cheap garbage. Afterwards Viol tossed away the bottle and reached over to grab Blaze himself, hefting the other copy robot over his shoulder.
Were he any other robot in the world, he never would've gotten away with this.
"You're going to get your a-- to bed," Viol continued. "You'll thank me in the morning when you're not pukin' up your robo-guts for once!" ...Okay, probably not- Blaze rarely thanked anybody for anything. But still. Blaze spent most mornings stumbling into the house and immediately making a beeline for the nearest washroom to eject his entire robotic equivalent of a digestive system. It was a wonder he was functional enough to work.
