A lot of actions occurs outside at night and i'd like to avoid worrying about having to carry a light source every time stepping outside and having two moons will surely illuminate the after hours, long nights draped under a silky aura of moonlight. The fantasy of having two moons have always stung in a very sweet way, and have bowled me over since. . My fantasy might be a reality in some another dimension that occurs at certain period of time, where all natural colors are shades of dark blue and gray, and surroundings distinctive enough to be visible. And owls hooting with a backdrop of two fully lit moons. . Having two moons in the story and its effects...? That's going to make for one complicated calendar. What sort of calendar a two-moon planet would have if the society is still native to this planet! . It will surely effect the tides, but tides really effect coastlines. You may have a series of landmasses that have very sharp, severe cliffs due to the severity of the tides. World could have more earthquakes due to the gravitational stresses placed on the plate tectonics beneath the surface, and also volcanic activity. Weather patterns would not be the same due to the harsher, more mountainous world that would be created by these gravitational forces...etc..etc. . Now the next step...if the coastlines are primarily cliffs - how does that effect ships and shipping? Would the country that actually has a seaport suddenly becomes the major power of the world? .
