i'm literally going insane it just fully hit me that it's frequently assumed the channel is called "boy boy" bc you know they're obviously 2 boys and it's literally written in their yt description too so that's obviously a factor and the most surface level connection ppl are going to make. but on the misfits podcast they explain that boy boy is actually a nickname aleksa and his friends used to call alex in high school to bully him bc alex's dad whom he hates has a nickname "iggy" so they called him either iggy or "rude boy" (when he didn't want to hang out with them bc of the bullying) which then turned into "iggy rude boy" which then turned into "iggy rude boy boy" and it just became longer and longer as additional words became tacked onto it and so on. so their shared channel that is often thought of as belonging purely to aleksa is named only after alex when you dig a bit under the surface. and alex's youtube profile picture is a magpie wearing pink crocs but he never actually wears pink crocs (even in the steel-toed croc video he uses a plain black pair) and in the photoshoot accompanying their arguably most famous interview it's aleksa who's wearing them similarly to many of their other videos like that's the footwear that's intrinsically tied to aleksa as opposed to alex's notoriously bare feet. so... both of their channels' most famous features actually refer to each other rather than to the "owner". i'm gonna pass out
