The Great Book Challenge; Day 1: Favorite Stand alone
The Giver- Lois Lowry
Though there are other novels taking place within the “universe” of this one, it is still considered a standalone to me- especially since this is the only one I read. The Giver left me inspired, and emotional- as well as grateful for the things I have and the freedoms I take for granted. This book was extremely thought provoking, and will surely be a story that always holds a special place in my heart. This is the one story I wish I would have been the one to create- it’s pure genius!
