hey guys! i know its been like, ages since i posted anything on this blog lol. ive had more motivation for just other things and stuff... both school and other art (i actually just graduated HS lol). now i felt kinda weird about just leaving this blog hanging all of a sudden lol.

im not sure if ill go back to creating designs since its been purely just a for-fun-when-im-bored thing, and while i do still have a lot of appreciation for the artistry of the WC fandom (i still watch plenty of WC artists haha) i havent felt much Cat Design Energy for a while. and maybe i will in the future - and if so, ill just post it on this blog.

i feel kinda comfortable doing it now so ill just mention a blog i just made for my other art in case u are curious about it - @ filurig. i havent actually used tumblr as an art posting site in a few years but i do really like the fact that it keeps image quality crisp and epic... but thank you for all the support for the amount of time i did keep this blog active haha!

doodled a tigerstar design, this time without looking at any wiki description but simply how im imagining him while reading.... pre reading design here 

trying to make simpler marking designs for tabbies as well :thinking: also i went for a redder colour palette this time because he ebil... also im deciding to post two versions, one with the extra colour and one without because i couldnt really decide which one i liked best...

man fireheart has like once braincell but is still somehow the only one with enough points in perception to see that tigerclaw is obviously a bad guy... like even if you dont know tha truth behind redtails death like...

ok WTF is dis... in into the wild the cats are mentioned several times to not be able to see well in the dark, with how rusty struggled to look into the forest at night and some other instances i believe... but then in the prologue of fire and ice here a cat remarks how humans have shitty night vision, thus implying these cats CAN indeed see well in the dark... WHICH IS IT

OK first round of designs remade after being in the process of reading the books :D heres the ones i made prior to reading into the wild

now since these characters probably already had the most established designs in the fandom, my old designs of them were probably more accurate to the books than these LOL... and my impression of the characters arent that different from what the fandom showed me now that im reading the books... the biggest change was probs in how i see firepaw because while reading the somali cat inspired designs stuck in my Imagination rather than the tabby ones, so i incorporated that into the new design. with ravenpaws honestly i just wanted to experiment a little :D graystripe barely changed other than me wanting to incorporate the interpretations of him id seen with some extra stripeage

sadly i think that the source i got them from got taken down D: tried going back to it and it seems that way. i still have the pdfs in a .rar file though because i downloaded them instead of reading them through the browser <:o

okay can i just say .. reading this book i get all those spottedleaf and firepaw/heart/star amvs a LOT less... i think they get more ahem weird ghost romance in the later books but like let me just say that its so weird because in this book at least it more feels like firepaw has a crush on an older than him cat who didnt really know/reciprocate like... firepaw mentions her smell sometimes and whatever and then suddenly shes dead and hes like ‘’MY SWEET SPOTTEDLEAF... I WILL AVENGE YOU’’ its like U BARELY EVEN KNEW HER REALLY...

ive seen some evil x character aus around in this fandom... i propose evil firepaw au where he is so easily tricked by tigerclaw that this single interaction causes him to turn against his friend and because of this tigerclaw realizes that firepaws single braincell is easy to manipulate and turns firepaw into the ultimate weapon of Evil. of course this would mean disregarding firepaws entire character but to be frank i mean if people can turn characters such as ravenpaw evil...

OH lol when i said “why dont you ask him” i meant ravenpaw not tigerclaw lol... its just funny to me how many times in this book firepaw remarks how ravenpaw is obviously hiding something serious but everytime he thinks about bringing it up SOMETHING stops him somehow and instead of being like “ok ill wait for the right time” he just. forgets about it until the time he doesnt

first of all...

moving forward with teh blog, ill tag new designs from now on with readingdesigns, and my old designs are all tagged with hrwdesigns, so you can search up the designs ive made prior to reading the books as well as the ones i redo after :D ill draw designs as i go along, so for a while now youre going to see designs from the earlier books and then from later books as i progress.

currently still reading into the wild since ive been busy with stuff now during summer and ive been reading kinda casually... my thoughts so far is that its pretty fun to read about these crazy cats :D i really like ravenpaw so far, and the whole squad with fire/gray/raven is also very wholesome. also its so funny that like canonically a big motivation behind firepaw not wanting to be a kittypet anymore is the fear of losing his precious cat jewels JKFDKSJF.
