monroeicals:
monroe just hummed at dylan’s words, looking down at her direction. “oh, she’s got this nice….nice aura, i think she’s bring in the money,” she replies with confidence evident in her tone as she started to play the mix she showed to the dancer previously. she was aware of the line they somehow crossed. and she just couldn’t stop herself from playing along this line, to make a game out of it, to drive dylan crazy. she’s fed off of the reaction she got the other day when she turned her down. monroe knew that her boss wouldn’t be able to avoid her, and that just adds to the amusement she was feeling. as the music continues to play, monroe moves away from her spot and a bit closer with the older woman to watch the dancer. “see? she’s doing great.”
Dylan’s jaw was clenched as she looked out at the club. At this point she wasn’t even paying attention to the stage, she was just staring straight ahead to stop herself from looking over at Monroe. She didn’t quiet understand why she was so affected by the younger girl. She never had this problem with any of her other employees. Everyone was kept at arms length. And yet here she was in this tense situation. She could feel Monroe move closer and finally Dylan looked over at her for just a second, her eyes scanning the girl’s face before going back to the stage. “Yeah, she’s not too bad,” she mused. “The customers seem to like her.” Dylan breathed hard out of her nose before finally relaxing a little, shifting her weight from one foot to the other. “This mix helps, it’s good.”
