Silence.
Just talk to me. That’s what everyone always says right? it’s the answer to everything. Just talk to me
Just talk to me. But the text you sent doesn’t get a response until the next day.
Just talk to me. But the call you made twice doesn’t get a response for 6 hours.
Just talk to me. Silence.
Someone somewhere might be reading this and can relate. These are just some of the reasons personal issues get brushed under the carpet. See when the time comes, now is not the time or place. Over the years tou find many outlets to substitute the guard that has been put in place. Dance, Art, Music, Poetry, Work. I mean who would suspect someone who gives fair opinion could ever be suffering in silence.
Trust. Building it. Believing it. The lack of it. More often than not those with an empathic ability will offer trust and all that comes with it. But once the trust is broken or the level given is not recieved in the same way, silence.
Understanding. Mental Health usually starts out as “oh you need motivation”. So you buy a few self help books and pick up a hobbie. You may fall into a situation or make a decision that affects you badly. “You will be ok” Do you find or did you know? that’s probably the worst thing you can say along with “it will all work out” It’s like walking through the rainforest at night and someone saying, you’ll be fine just relax. You ain’t gonna relax when you hear those howls and insect noises.
So as the radio silence and persona building increases the ability to deal with things rationally depreciates. Eating more, Duvet days, phone switched off, alcohol, drugs, self harm, self hate, promiscuous behaviour all become more attractive than going to the gym and eating right.
But who do you tell? No one can save you, you can only save yourself. But you can’t see clearly. Back to square one.
Depression is the predominant mental health problem worldwide, followed by anxiety, schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
In 2016, 5,668 suicides were recorded in Great Britain because of Mental Health Issues. Of these, 75% were male and 25% were female
One person in fifteen had made a suicide attempt at some point in their life.
