Researchers have been looking into whether animals dream like humans, and they've come up with some interesting conclusions. For example, MIT researchers looking at rat brain activity found evidence that rats who'd spent the day racing around a track spent some of the night dreaming about it as well!
Even without hands, these creatures use everything from floating bottles and seaweed to plastic hoops and other animals for fun…

A selection of weird and wonderful natural weapons from real-world animals that would fit right into a fantasy or sci-fi setting. We're talking about animals that stab people using their own poison-coated ribs, spray soporific clouds to stun prey or even shoot jets of organic glue!
Along with a liminal space so common we don’t even notice it…
Liminal spaces have interesting effects on the human brain. They can jolt us out of a normal routine, offering novelty that can help us learn... but they can also be unsettling. Researchers have found that an "uncanny valley" effect (where "almost realistic" dolls are really unnerving to humans) can apply to strangely laid-out places as well.
Many liminal spaces (such as corridors or halls, empty buildings and deserted stations) can play tricks on the memory as well. The so-called "doorway effect" shows that simply walking through a door can interfere with human memory.
Maybe these unnerving effects are behind the sheer amount of folklore and urban legends that can be linked to liminal spaces. Take crossroads for example - they're linked to several deities, pacts, black dogs, hangings and the macabre "Hand of Glory" talisman!
