I waited. It may have looked like other things, But it was truly just that -- waiting. Subdued, Desperate, With-little-hope kind of waiting.

Then you turned up Like raindrops in a desert, Like an unforeseen meteor of sorts. That's how it felt, though you barely made a sound. Like the offspring of a whirlwind and a whisper, or something Words fail to trace you and all you do As always.

And then I came to see That your love had not ended when you ascended That I had envied the stars for nothing. That your love did not get sucked into a blackhole, And your promise holds its ground as steadily as it surrounds.

You are. In and despite the chaos, On cold, moonless nights, You are. Even when moments are bleak You are Beholding us, holding on, And waiting.

You are called by many names, But I have known you as my only hope For I had come to you in tears, in sorrow, in anger. I have seen how, in the wake of your presence, My fears and follies were dismantled, How my own face fell off from where it was, How I no longer mattered. Neither this place Nor that.
