I Left This For You! Instructions: Select an object from the bowl. Take a close look at it.   That’s what I thought! That thing had your name all over it. I knew you were going to pick that one.   Place it on the wooden “stage”. Take a picture with your phone. Now send me a text or email   With the picture attached And an answer of any length To why exactly you picked up that particular object I left   Just for you.   You may even get something back.

“Come Sit and Read Your Mail” Is there something in the mailbox for you?   Check and see.

Instructions (inside the mailbox):

Inside this big box   You will find three more boxes. One contains the messages. Open it and find the one for you. Turn the message over… And tell me something back.

Another box contains the tool of translation. It channels what is inside your miraculous mind Into the loopy shapes we have all learned by heart And onto a stiff dry surface I will hold in my hand Far, far away from where you are right now.

The last box contains the means of travel.   Its angels binge on distance  And arrive stuffed. I’ll tear them open and they’ll spill out Onto the honey-wood trestle table By my front door.

Choose one object from each box.   Use them all just as we’ve been taught And leave your sealed gift tucked inside this big box With the flag flipped up.

Talking With You from Far Away, Part I

In 2015, Four Corners Arts Center in Tiverton, RI commissioned Real/Time Interventions to create a series of installations in their Sculpture Park for the Summer 2015 Exhibit. 

Using the distance between Pittsburgh PA and Tiverton as a frame, R/TI’s Molly Rice created a series of “communication stations” where visitors to the park could connect across greater and greater distances-- eventually connecting with Molly at her home in Pittsburgh.
