Last week, I visited one of my church friends, Louis and sheng. They just gave birth to baby Jachin last month and we decided to drop by White Rock to visit them. Taking photos of babies are so different from what i usually do. I’m so used to posing subjects that taking pictures of Jachin was like documentary photography- no staging of photographs. I just had to wait for the perfect moment when he looks at me and my camera.

If you’re ever in NYC, make sure to drop by ground zero. The architecture of the memorial really does justice to the disasters of 911. The museum is built 6 floors deep from where the original twin towers were. You really get a sense of descending into space, to be submerged underground and back to the foundations of twin towers. Only one of the buildings were built, hence the ugly orange cranes in the photos.

Over the weekend, I had the honor to take photos for Frameworq’s Upcycled Fashion show in collaboration with Art Institute. It was a pleasure to meet all these creative people in the industry who love what they do. The idea behind the designs were to reuse old clothes to give them new life.

This was one of my first shoots I had with Beth September 2013. It was my break through point with my love for portrait photography. I’ve always loved taking pictures but when I had this shoot, I felt a sense of accomplishment in capturing beauty.

This summer, I am giving my all to photography. I will be uploading photos on here every Tuesday and Thursday and will hopefully (crosses fingers*) upload photos on Instagram daily. This will be my goal for the summer and making this public would hopefully give me the motivation to keep to this goal!

I love how photos are a representation of how I view the world and that others can view the world with me through these captured moments.
