Well,
That was a lovely vacation.
An Apple || Rebekah and Warren
Warren didn’t spend much time on the less fortunate side of town, but he still had work out there some days. One of his regulars needed one of their windows fixed. And with weather like what they’ve been having, he for one would never be someone to leave them out in the cold.
Once he finished he walked briskly back to the other side of town, his trusty toolbox in hand. Walking down the street, he saw the young boy bump into the woman, he smiled when the woman chastised him for being out in the cold and gave him the apple. When the boy ran off he couldn’t help but match pace with the woman.
"That was mighty nice of ya, y’know. Most people would have wanted to whip the boy for dirtying up their dress. Let alone give them an apple." He said, glancing at her and smiling again.
Rebekah laughed at the comment a man said next to her. Her dress getting dirty was the least worries she had. "It's just a dress. It can easily be clean and I have a plenty at home." A shrug with the shoulders and she glanced over at who joined her in this walk. She didn't know if she had seen him before or not but any company was joyful.
As they walked, she buttoned another spot on her coat, trying anything to keep herself warm. The brunette never understood why she made the decision to walk out when it wasn't warm at all. The girl hated the cold, no matter how long she lived up north it was never going to change. "Rebekah Renaldt, sir. I don't believe we have been properly introduced." A smile lit up her face.
Eyeing the toolbox in one of his hands, Rebekah assumed that he was also doing business. Or he possibly could have a thing for toolboxes. "You fix things?" She asked, nodding at the box. Secretly, she wished the latter option was true.

It was rare to see the poor out on the streets in such horrible conditions for anyone to be in without the proper outfit. Though if you were someone like Rebekah then you knew exactly where to find the people you wanted. Of course everyone else just believed the girl was looking for trouble.
An apple in her pocket, she swiftly walked through the almost naked streets on the poor side of town. The most easy to influence was children. It wasn't much but she felt a warmth with anyone she helped. A boy collided with her, him being a stuttering mess as he looked down at the ground. "Shouldn't you be inside?" Rebekah asked, clearly ignoring the apologies. Reaching into her pocket and pulled out the fruit, she handed it to him. "You can have the apple as long as you go inside. You don't need to be getting a cold now."

He shook his head and made his way over to the cabinet. “Go sit down and I’ll make you your tea.” He reached up to the top shelf and easily grabbed one of the cups and set it on the counter. Setting the water on the stove to boil, he crouched down to pick up the broken china.
"There was nothing for me to do, so I thought I could spend the afternoon with my sister. It’s been ages since we have a good talk." Things hadn’t been the best between the two for months and his wedding had kept him busy, but it was time to change all of that.
Rebekah playfully rolled her eyes before sitting down. "I could of done it myself." She muttered. At the idea of having the afternoon with her brother, she couldn't deny the grin. The only thing she loved more than helping people was her brother. "The whole afternoon? Well, you surely must be that bored to spend it with me." It wasn't that she didn't like spending time with him, she thought they spent little to none after the wedding and her getting settled in with her own job.
The paper being set on the table from earlier, she pulled it over before skimming over it. Things had changed for Rebekah and now she was more interested in the events of city. More importantly finding a place of her own but she was going to keep that to herself, she knew her brother wouldn't let her out of his sight.

Benjamin had decided to take the afternoon off. The winter weather seemed to keep people indoors more and he had no meetings scheduled at the bank or in his own business. His office on Main was still a work in progress and he was going to have to find someone to help manage it, but so far the work load had been light enough that he was fine on his own.
When he heard something smash on the floor of the kitchen he grumbled, until he heard his younger sister. Her cursing made him chuckle as he approached the room. Trying to set a serious look on his face, he cleared his throat. “That is not proper language for a lady.”
Rebekah pressed the cloth tighter on her hand before turning around to face her brother. "Well, the cups being on the top shelf isn't proper for a lady either." She easily retorted back, an eyebrow raised. Even with him looking serious, the woman knew when he was and wasn't being truly serious.
She looked back over to the broken pieces and then to him. "I thought you would already be out of the house." She thought out loud. Now that he was married, it was a common sight to see him around the house more. Or it could of been the cold. Rebekah believed the first option. "Can you get me a cup, Ben?" She smiled and playfully batted her eyelashes.

You say that until you aren’t able to go back. Then you learn real fast what it is to miss somethin’ you never thought you would..
Well, miss... I can't go back until I become the daughter my parents want. I, on the other hand, don't wish to be that. So, I do understand.
