But if you keep this up, I’ll have to have an additional closet." With a chuckle, she followed him into the closet and kicked the door shut. Grabbing his jacket, she pulled him into a deep kiss and wrapped an arm around his neck.

Benjamin chuckled against her lips. As much as he loved his wife, he didn't think that they had time for this kind of distraction. He kissed her again before pressing his forehead against hers. "I've got us a private sleeper car on the train, we'll have plenty of time once we're on board.

"If you would like." She took his hand from her waist and lead him to the suitcases she had prepared. "I’m guessing that you’d want your favorites, so that’s what I’ve been packing. If you want to change anything out, don’t hesitate to say something."

Grabbing some of her things, she began to fold and put them delicately into the suitcase. Most women would let their maid take care of it, but Carlotta wanted to make sure everything was done right and the way she wanted. What better way than to just do it herself. “So, are you going to tell me where you’re taking me or am I going to have have to guess and hope I’m right?”

Benjamin smiled and folded one of his shirts before putting it into the large suitcase. "Pack for cold weather, I'm not taking you south. But that's all you're going to get out of me until we're on the train."

He rubbed his wife's back before wrapping his arm around her shoulder and pulling her close. Ben kissed the top of her head and then walked to the closet to grab a few more things to pack. "But don't take your entire winter wardrobe. We can always buy you something while we're there if you forget anything."

Rebekah pressed the cloth tighter on her hand before turning around to face her brother. “Well, the cups being on the top shelf isn’t proper for a lady either.” She easily retorted back, an eyebrow raised. Even with him looking serious, the woman knew when he was and wasn’t being truly serious.

She looked back over to the broken pieces and then to him. “I thought you would already be out of the house.” She thought out loud. Now that he was married, it was a common sight to see him around the house more. Or it could of been the cold. Rebekah believed the first option. “Can you get me a cup, Ben?” She smiled and playfully batted her eyelashes.

He shook his head and made his way over to the cabinet. "Go sit down and I'll make you your tea." He reached up to the top shelf and easily grabbed one of the cups and set it on the counter. Setting the water on the stove to boil, he crouched down to pick up the broken china.

"There was nothing for me to do, so I thought I could spend the afternoon with my sister. It's been ages since we have a good talk." Things hadn't been the best between the two for months and his wedding had kept him busy, but it was time to change all of that.

Carlotta hummed to herself as she helped her maid pack her bags. With a wide smile spread across her face, she had no problem selecting what dresses she wanted or what sort of accessories she should take. The trip alone was more than enough to make her happy, and she was pleased as punch to be spending it with her new husband.

It was still weird to think of Ben as her husband, even if they had been been married for almost three months. Time flew when they were together, and Carlotta couldn’t wait to see him each and every day. Occasionally, she’d shake her had at the very notion of her acting like a giddy schoolgirl, but today was different. He was taking her someplace special, “for Valentine’s Day.” She hadn’t the faintest idea what was going on in his head, but she played along anyway.

Looking up, she noticed him standing in the doorway and watching her as she prepared them both for the trip. “What are you doing home so early?” she asked, setting down one of his jackets to be packed before walking over to him. Leaning up, she pecked his lips and sighed. “I’m thinking you’re as excited as I am for this trip!”

Their honeymoon hadn't been long enough, that was what Benjamin concluded when he decided to book the trip to New York last week. He wanted his wife all to himself still, away from everything that was Montford. While things with her family seemed to have calmed down, it just wasn't the same and the man was determined for them to lead as normal of a life as possible.

Closing up his office on Main Street, he swung by the bank one last time to make sure everything was in order and to remind the secretary for the office that he would be gone until later in the month. Once she assured him that everything was taken care of he went back to his car and made his way home.

When he found his wife already packing he couldn't help but smile. "Why stay at the office when I have you here?" He chuckled and put his arm around her waist, pulling her closer. "Would you like some help?" He asked before kissing her once again.

Rebekah wasn’t the tallest in her family and why the tea cups where too far for her to reach didn’t make much sense. Ben didn’t drink tea and Carlotta would usually get a stool. Rebekah had the idea in her head from when she was young that she would do be able do it by herself. So, the girl never really wanted help and found a way to get something one way or another.

In result of this, she cut herself. The cup had fallen and while she was trying to catch it, it broke from the impact of her hand and cut it before falling on the counter. “Shit!” She muttered, quickly getting a rag to stop the bleeding. She just hoped no one in the house heard the commotion. “Where’s a bandage when I need one?” She asked to herself.

Benjamin had decided to take the afternoon off. The winter weather seemed to keep people indoors more and he had no meetings scheduled at the bank or in his own business. His office on Main was still a work in progress and he was going to have to find someone to help manage it, but so far the work load had been light enough that he was fine on his own.

When he heard something smash on the floor of the kitchen he grumbled, until he heard his younger sister. Her cursing made him chuckle as he approached the room. Trying to set a serious look on his face, he cleared his throat. "That is not proper language for a lady."

"Absolutely not! Especially with you running off to the East." She smiled, looking toward her aunt and smiling. "I’m blaming you whether it was your fault or not." Turning back to look at him with a smirk, she sighed. "Better late than never." She leaned forward and kissed his cheek lightly. "

"And I'll take all the blame." He chuckled and grabbed some champagne for the both of them from the waiter that was bringing it around. "I should have asked before we left, and dragged you with me." Benjamin kissed her once more before pulling her and her chair a little closer. "Would you like to get a dance in before they start toasting?"
