She did bad things (left Spinel, lied about her identity, fought a war against herself, lowkey led Pearl on but that’s a whole other matter) but she also did good things (she fought a war against herself that saved the earth and humanity, inspired gems like Bismuth to fight for themselves and fusions like Garnet to accept themselves).

I can’t find it right now but Rebecca legit said Rose was written so that she couldn’t be marked as a definite hero or villain, because she’s neither.
