thinking back, it’s wild what movies my parents let me watch.

like at 8-9yo i watched the omen (1 and 2) and the exorcist. and at relatives’ parties they’d leave the tv on which eventually showed soft core porn.

but when i was 13yo my dad yelled at me for watching “stand by me.”

wife is nervous about her MRI appt here at the hospital and of course me being me i told her it’s gonna be the most excruciatingly painful experience in her life.

thankfully she knows i’m kidding bc ive already had one, plus she’s given birth to two children and had several procedures done including a major surgery. this will be a cakewalk.

she just left the waiting area, i wanted to say “ok don’t die!” but there were others here and i didn’t want to trigger anyone jajaja

my wife had a really good “girls night in” at the house tonight, i’m really happy for her because everyone came and she’s been needing this for a while.

plus i really like all her (our) friends, especially the ladies. i’m friends with all their husbands too, like really good friends, but i connect more with the women. tonight’s theme was “crafts night” and i was totally interested in it but it wasn’t for me to participate in so i holed myself up in the bedroom.

it triggered the ol’ gender dysphoria in me.

my wife said i should set something up with “the guys” but i don’t fully fit in with the guys. i dont fit in anywhere, really.

i dunno. maybe one day i’ll feel like i fully belong somewhere.

i made this cuz i wanted to prove to my band we could do a buddy holly song our style. so i fired up garageband, orchestrated the drum and bass, played my uke and sang.

one thing i’ll never understand but will never question is how my wife can patiently go “home goods” hunting. sometimes she doesn’t come back with anything, sometimes she comes back with epic stuff.

she goes to home goods, tj max, marshall’s, and whatever store to hunt for bargains. the patience is not just waiting to find cool stuff, but also that she’s putting up with kind of an assholey crowd in some locations. but she’s built that way. unlike me, my patience gauge is always on empty, and i’m afraid i’ll start calling people names.

“hey i was looking at that snoopy candle holder first, DEBORAH.”

anyway

the best things she’s gotten for me are all related to coffee. coffee beans and concentrated coffee. so clutch.

news around the scuttlebutt (water cooler) is that my daughter's school district is thinking about doing away with the school ipads and going to textbook, paper, and handwritten learning. i don't know how other students are reacting to this, but my daughter is very much into it.

it's probably not going into fruition, but the fact that they've considered it was pretty interesting.

this most likely comes in light of the controversies surrounding AI and other technologies that do so much of the thinking and doing for young students, which potentially hinders proper and deep learning.

that's just a guess on my end tho

it was pretty funny last night, how the usmnt got smoked. badly. and literally the entire world took pleasure in it. and if we're mutuals on bluesky, then you'll know i took pleasure in it too. and so did my usa friends. and so did so many other usa'ers.

the moment trump stepped in the other day and greased fifa, i said publicly (but no one cared lol) that if balogun were to sit out, it would be the only way the usmnt would save face and show the world they stand against corruption and trump. but they let him play and it showed me that they lack honor and integrity. they were no longer usmnt for me, they became team maga.

it was already difficult for me to root them on to begin with (for many reasons), but after seeing yesterday's starting line-up, there's no way i could support them, and was hoping they'd suffer a humiliating defeat. and they did.

this is a microcosm of a much larger picture of what's going on in this country. trump and anyone who aligns with him should be resisted no matter what it is.

im sure a lot of people would wanna question my loyalty. i choose honor and integrity over loyalty, and i'm loyal to those with honor and integrity. i don't want my kids thinking corruption is okay as long as they're the ones doing it.
