Nate appeared exactly where he was when he left, only the year wasn’t the same, time travel was great like that, but while he was trying to save the world, he was also trying to avoid Kang.
He knew Kang wasn’t going to hurt him, but that didn’t stop him hurting the rest of the world, and many worlds beyond. Which was what brought him to Stark Enterprises. He’d taken everything he needed and was sat on a wall outside welding some now plasma canons on to his own gauntlets when he heard someone coming and slipped off the wall, heading the other way “Nope, wasn’t me.”
“Friends shouldn’t lie to friends.” Or acquaintances. Whatever you wanted to call them. “So, do we not work in labs anymore? We do some good old fashion building outside?”
“It’s called bending the truth for your information.” he replied and shrugged “Like it wasn’t me, that made the tech, is what I meant, but I am stealing and modifying.” he explained and looked at her “Starks never going to know now, is he.” It would be rather terrifying if he came to haunt them from the grave.

It had taken a while for Gwen to feel comfortable in her civilian clothes when out of her own dimension, especially if she was alone. It felt weird to be there with just a hood over blonde hair, like the real Gwen Stacy was going to show up at any moment. Her pace flagged walking past Stark Industries. It just felt so wrong now that he was dead ( on this world – he was quite alive on hers and running a successful coffee line ) but she wasn’t paying attention to any guys sitting on walls. Until, at least, one spoke to her. Pulling her headphones down so that they rested against her neck, Gwen frowned. “–What?”
Oh? So she was oblivious, well at least that meant he didn’t have to rush off. “Oh, what? I was just saying that you probably shouldn’t be here.” he replied, and smiled, teasing her, glancing to the headphones “What are you listening to? Anything good.” he asked and tucked all the tech he’d taken in to his backpack. Honestly, he had no idea what people listened to in this place, it wasn’t his time, but he couldn’t go back there, it was too dangerous and he’d be an easy target.

Being dead was boring and it had only been six years. Cassie couldn’t imagine what the rest of eternity would like her with her just existing in a world where she once had belonged and now felt strangely disattached from. The shadows twisting in the air the sign to herald her presence, Cassie’s form emerged from the bending darkness exactly where he had been sitting. “You should work on being a better liar.”
“I could...” he agreed, but then shook his head “But why bother when I can usually get out of trouble.” he said and shrugged. If he found himself in trouble, he’d just go back in time and change whatever he did till the ending turned out how he wanted it. Only, his tech was recharging and he was in need of some new power cells, which is why he was at Stark Enterprises. “You been stalking me long shadow girl?” he teased.

She wasn’t trespassing. For the first time in her life ( an exaggeration considering how the past few years had shaped out to be ) Ava was allowed places. Welcome, even. The science to keep her stable was out there and she was free to use it. Phasing through the wall without breaking her stride, it was easier to keep the helmet on and avoid having to talk to people. Even though she was better at it the act of socialization was still tiresome. “If it’s not you,” the words were weighted and heavy after going through the voice modulator they had yet to remove from the hood. “It’d be me. And it’s not.”
It wasnt really the girl but the worlds that made Nathaniel smile and he laughed a little, turning to look at her as she removed her hood “Almost sounds like you’re the breaking and entering kind. And lets be clear, I’m not accepting the blame, but notice no alarms, wow, whoever got in there must be a genius.” he chuckled, and he was.

“Wait - wait! I’m just looking for the Milano!” Quill called after the kid. That damn ship had swapped so many hands over the last few years that Quill was worried it was in pieces. Maybe melted down and turned into cans of tuna.
“The what?” he asked and turned to look at the other man. “Wasn’t that like a place or something? And why are you looking for it here?” Nate shrugged “I’ve seen nothing but a big building with discarded tech and out of date ideas.” he said and snorted a little “Is that your idea of Milano?”

Even after the dust settled and the flyers were taken down, at least as many as could be, Julian still found himself walking his path to the city, to the memorial. Now, he always took a different turn, leading somewhere else, but a habit built over five years was a habit hard to break. As he passed by the large, hulking building that stood as a remembrance of a different time, he saw a kid heading away from something like he’d just gotten into trouble. He could care less, except that he was standing in his path and he wasn’t sure if the guy was paying attention. Putting a pause in his step, Julian brought his coffee to his lips, a mild curiosity triggered by the need to get out of his own head.
Nate tucked the small gadgets away and slipped the gauntlet behind his back as he looked at the man in front of him, pretty glad he didn’t run in to him, cause that coffee would of gone everywhere. He paused and sighed “Well that could of been a little messy. You should watch where you’re going.”

“Then you’re cool if I keep this stuff right?” James called after him, but he wasn’t really speaking to him.
Nate just looked at him and smiled “If I left it, I don’t need it.” he said and glanced to the pile of discarded tech “Scavenging huh? Can’t call you out on it, I guess breaking and entering for tech is kind of the same thing.”

“You’re really quite full of yourself if you think I care about what you’re doing.” Felicia said from directly behind him. “I’ve just been trying to figure out how to break into this place for years.” she gestured towards the building they were both under.
He glanced back at her and then to the building “Helps if you have a handy little gizmo that can transport you through matter.” he said, and patted one part of his gauntlet. “Why are you trying to break in?”

Carol was in her civilian garb, although it looked more like she stepped out of a kid’s Goosebumps novel than the latest fashion magazine. Pale, loose fitting blue jeans, a pair of high top converse, a jean jacket, and a ball cap pulled tightly over her hair — but she felt at home in this. Spending decades in space had only made her nostalgic for the 90′s; and she certainly didn’t pick up on Skrull fashion.
As one of the remaining Avengers, Carol did random patrolling around the facility where they were currently housed and into the city, where some of their own stayed. Close, but far enough away that they had their own independence. Still, that didn’t mean they didn’t need a little security now and then, and Carol offered that service whether they knew about it or not.
Today, she had chosen the city again, her eyes and ears open to sounds of fighting, sounds of struggle, or sounds of an impending battle. It was only when the weight of her own footsteps sent a small voice in response that she put wind beneath her feet and push into the air. Her abilities carried her over and she landed directly in front of the kid.
“Cool tech,” she looked at the gauntlets with curiosity. “I’m not gonna bust you for them, but you should know that civilians,” Carol gestured around to the knowing public that had been growing increasingly more wary about their presence. “They aren’t going to like you doing that out in the open, whether they can directly see you or not.”
Civilians, he supposed he should really think more about them, but he’d never had to before, he was one of them until not so long ago. He glanced around in case there was anyone else watching, but he was sure he’d been pretty careful “Yeah well, it’s not all stolen before you go off on me about morals. I just needed a boost.” Besides, if you asked him, he’d probably say he had more right to it, but he wasn’t going to get in to a time war. He’d already decided it was best not to mention time travel, he’d seen way too many of those movies to know how fucked up things could get.
“Nobodies around, okay, I’m not stupid, I just needed a few repairs and it’s not like Tony cares anymore.” Was that Harsh? He had seen the news, knew he’d landed just after the death of Iron Man, but he wasn’t great at using the tech he already had, not yet anyway, and he wasn’t going to go with the age old saying ‘practice makes perfect’ when messing with Time could have dire consequences.
“That idea is insane. What on Earth are you thinking? You’d get yourself killed.”
“Someone has to try out the new tech, that, or it blows up during battle and everyone dies.” he shrugged at her “Didn’t think anyone would care, besides, I know what I’m doing.”
